Ngl i didnt really like these last two chapters i was expecting a little more emotionla depth after s1 ended with yknow the big twist, heonjae admitting to wanting to kill jingi, for it to simply get basically shrugged off.. not only by myeongil but ALSO jingi?? with all that build up i was hoping for a littl more pay off. it feels like the author is trying to sort of force in this love rivalry when it felt much more natural in earlier chapters. i feel like they need to reprioritize the plot but idk just me though what yall think
like you see heonjae being in his most unstable, violent state, just tried to fucking murder his own brother and decide: yeah i think it's a good idea to give him my home address with my little siblings living there. like obv i dont think he's gonna do anything, but that logic makes ZERO fuckign sense??
and heonjae literally doesnt give a flying fuck about jingi i was really hoping to see this moment be a tense emotional exchange between the two but we get NONE of that. jingi didnt explain anythign about his uncle, or his past abuse, or how he meant to help heonjae like are we fr let's get something rolling. this scene did nothing for heonjae besides establish what we already know, we didnt get anything new and ughhhhhh im just upset cuz i had my expectations somewhat high. this author usually delivers for me
Jingi not getting upset with Heonjae makes sense because he's convinced that the uncle is the ultimate villain. It also makes sense that he wouldn't want to tell Heonjae anything about his past. We get more of his psych in CH90, but one of the reasons is that as the older brother, he doesn't want to burden Heonjae with that trauma. Plus he's spent years building up his top dog image and doesn't want to appear weak or vulnerable. If Myeongil hadn't found those pictures, Jingi would have never told him either.
As for Heonjae, the fact that he doesn't give two shits about Jingi was the entire point. He would have actually killed him if Myeongil hadn't intervened. That's Heonjae being as selfish as he's always been. His admission that he's manipulative isn't out of character at all because he's always known exactly what he's doing. There's clearly something wrong with him, but he's not stupid. Honestly, I'm glad we finally heard it straight from his own mouth because some readers like to baby him even though he's been playing both Jingi and Myeongil this entire time.
As for Myeongil, I'm disappointed too. When the raws for Chapter 81 came out, I genuinely thought he'd be furious with Heonjae because we know he's capable of that kind of anger. When he found those pictures, he immediately cast Jingi aside. He's never had a problem fighting with Jingi when he's upset, yet Heonjae always gets away with barely a slap on the wrist. It also didn't make any sense for him to send a fucking felon to where his siblings live wth??? The only way I can rationalize Myeong's actions in this chapter is that he still sees Heonjae as a child rather than a full grown man. And I hate to say it, but sometimes it feels like the author has a bias toward Heonjae. He constantly gets away with everything (not helping Jingi during the sports fest, forcing Jingi to play the bad guy so Myeong would switch rooms, etc). It feels like the story is much more forgiving toward Heonjae compared to the other characters.
I agree for the majority of it except the part where you said the author favors heonjae. I think it’s quite the opposite. We only really sees such emotional romanctic tension between jingi and myeongil for the past season and the first . She wrote in scenes where even while myeongil was with heonjae, he’d be thinking of jingi. Scenes where he has dreams of him, and even the tension during the times jingi is drunk and they are more affectionate towards each other. That to me screams that she favors jingis arc more as heonjae is just a plot device to get jingi jealous and to admit that he has feelings for myeongil
does anyone know the reason (or like possible reasons) for chapter disapprovals? i uploaded mine, it was an official translation and it stayed up for over a month. no complaints from readers. then all of a sudden it got removed. not sure what went wrong
This has been happening a lot ever since the site crashed (that whole ordeal with the lists and what not) I think the devs are still fine tuning things to get the site back to how it was before the crash. I've noticed that a lot of uploads rn will get approved then unapproved then approved again etc, this is happening to uploads from many months ago as well.
