I used to love trope like this thinking the MC can change ML. But thst still too toxic.
For me its not even about 'changing' the ML is about the abuse and the ideal that they changed (they may have only after something happens) BUT its not about the change its about the abuse that happened that wont ever change,.. it happened plain and simple.
