The uke is so annoying and exhausting. The story is just very frustrating, I can’t
Why do they always write stories about some assholes and pathetic MCs?? I feel like every BL stories reuses, at least, 10 similar tropes and archetypes. It’s hard to find anything remotely original. Excuse my rant, it’s not that deep, I’m just tired of reading the same stuff

I like how they aren’t perfect, and neither is their relationship. It makes the story feel real, cozy, and nice

That was so lovely

I genuinely do not get the point of this story. The protagonist barely knows the guy but pushes everyone else away for him. He ignores the original plot and makes no effort to change anything. The supposed main characters hardly matter. He behaves childishly, constantly cries, drinks nonstop despite being hospitalized, and keeps making irrational decisions. There is no clear direction, no strategy, no development. Just being dramatic, coughing blood, drinking alcohol, and having sex on repeat.
It feels pointless and illogical, like a total waste of time. He acts like a child who can’t take care of himself, constantly playing the victim and giving off “little girl” energy with lines like, “I’m not as cute and small as Woomin.” Like… what?

    overnoid March 4, 2026 6:07 pm

ofc the main characters dont matter. Hes not the main cast, just a side character that dies. Also at this moment he isnt as close to the main characters of the book so they arent as relevant.
I dont understand wym but makes no effort to change anything? He tries his best to avoid things that werent supposed to happen. Like the brother seeing the actual mc, he wanted to rush home to see if his brother was there. He doesn’t ignore the original plot. He has said things like “they stated it briefly so there is flexibility on how it happened” and “its very clear it was their first time meeting. there is not flexibility” and then he panics.

Calling a panic attack being dramatic is crazy work btw. I do fee that story could progress without sex though, so ill agree with that.

im pretty sure he said that “im not as cute and small” because he was confused how ml could like him

I think you're missing some context about the MC's situation....

"He barely knows the guy but pushes everyone else away"
Well, MC feels like an impostor in that world, so Seungwon's family and friends don't feel like his. But when he met the ML, the ML was already acting different from the original novel, so he felt some sense of kinship — like he's not the only "irregular" one there. That's why he becomes so dependent on him, whilst pushes everyone else away.

"He ignores the original plot and makes no effort to change anything"
I dont think this story is using that kind of trope where the MC (as an extra) tries to change the plot to avoid a bad ending. Here the MCs just want to go back to his original world, not to fix his "character" fate.

    "He acts childish/irrational/drinks a lot"
Yeah… because he's DEPRESSED. The story literally shows him spiraling, having PTSD episodes, and making self destructive decisions. Even the constant sex with ML reads more like him clinging to the only thing that gives him a sense of security. That's also why he becomes an alcoholic and keeps drinking even when he knew it's bad for him.

    hope this clear something ^^

The story could have focused more on the “main” characters to create a stronger plot and make it more engaging. The premise is completely ignored. If he really cared about following the original story, he wouldn’t have immediately gotten involved with the ML or clung to him without reason.

The repeated use of panic attacks throughout the story feels excessive and reduces their impact. They’re depicted superficially, which is frustrating, especially since I have anxiety and depression and have experienced panic attacks myself. Using them so casually doesn’t feel accurate or respectful.

Suggesting that a character needs to be “small and cute” to be liked is very strange, no matter how you look at it.

It was never stated or implied in the manga, and even so, that doesn’t justify the MC being extremely rude or dismissive to people who genuinely care about him over someone he just met.

If he had intended to follow the original story, he wouldn’t have pursued the ML so intensely or clung to him without reason.

A story can explore characters deeply without being repetitive or hollow, which is exactly how the author’s version feels. Of course, this is just my opinion, I apologize if it comes across as offensive, especially if you like the story.

we cant focus on the main characters rn because the mc(of this manhwa) is not as relevant yet. He is trying to follow the storyline of the novel. He didnt mean to get immediately involved with ml and he even thought ml would not be so kind so thats why he was more nicer to ml. He doesnt want to die and not follow the storyline.

Also i dont even know if its panic atacks. You have to remember, he doesnt belong in this universe. His mind is an anomaly. So this could be his mind just breaking down. Also you cant really compare because you havent been transmigrated into a manhwa and then slowly start to lose your original self.

The mc isnt in the right headspace. So he thinks certain things weirdly

honestly you just need to be more critical when reading the story. If you prefer an easy read, then drop this manhwa. Its not for you

what manga? also what was never stated or implied. If we are able to tell you certain things, it most definitely was implied. Again, a lot if critical thinking with this read. Author uses a-lot of show not tell which is mostly different from other short and easy reads.

Exactly. So far they aren’t relevant. All I am saying, they could have been used to make the story more interesting instead of repeating the same scenes for over 40 chapters. You claim “he didn’t mean to get involved with the ML,” but his actions clearly say otherwise. It happened from the get-go. If he wanted to follow the original story, he wouldn’t message the ML and keep insisting on meeting, talking, or sleeping with him. At that point, they had barely even interacted for him to be acting that way.

You call them panic attacks, then you backtrack. At least be consistent with your own narrative. Regardless of the label, it was written poorly and treated far too casually.

This isn’t a deep story. If anything, it’s the opposite. It’s very simplified to the point it feels superficial.

It wasn’t meant for you but for the other reply. You’re welcome to interpret the story in your own way, but assumptions presented as facts aren’t necessarily accurate.

From what I see, the MC didn’t cling to the ML just because of a slight change in behavior. That alone doesn’t seem to justify his intense pursuit or deviation from the original story.

I appreciate you sharing your perspective, even though I see it differently. Wishing you all the best.

i took it back because after rereading, it was never made obvious it was panic attacks and that was a mistake. Obviously the story is not meant for you if you cant understand it critically. Wishing you the best of luck finding the right manhwa to read!

Idk it was a crazy fun ride, I really enjoyed reading it and can’t wait for new chapters

It was drawn so beautifully but written so badly. Jfc the plot is super dumb and basic, characters are so fucking annoying. Zero logic. It didn’t make any sense. Smut was okay, kind of short and abrupt

    justsomeguy November 24, 2025 4:29 pm

i don’t feel as strongly as you do (i still enjoyed it to an extent) but i do think this would have been better if the author had gotten to write a full story. in the QnA chapter they express it was originally a full length story with a bunch more chapters and their producer told them to condense it into a short. i like their art and i feel like i could like their characters so i hope next time they actually get the chance to write the full story so it doesn’t feel so rushed.

I think if you read the other work done by this author, you’ll see that it’s an ongoing problem of theirs. They are really good at drawing but not at writing stories. “An eye for an aye” is also very illogical and just bad in general. It’s not the worst but very hard to read and understand what the characters’ motives are. It’s kind of silly, the angst is very performative and unnecessary. Usually, I can ignore it but I couldn’t close my eyes on it this time. But I’m sure they will get better with time or I’d like to believe so
