Sohans is ridiculous to forgive his 'father'
you never know the feeling of a child who never had decent parents to begin with. him, "forgiving" that sad-excuse-of-a-man--as fucking "ridiculous" as it seems-- is not Sohan's fault. he's got his own wounds and unless you've been in that situation of being stuck between hating or forgiving the person whom you know you loved--let alone a parent--is nowhere near easy.
Why did he drink it??
I think for additional charges if he ever wants to threaten with legal pursuits. Because if it’s good to know the drink is spiked, it’s even better (in terms of charges) if the drug is ingested. It’s my guess
Also because the author probably wanted to write a sex scene which is a little….meh
