Seeing the difference in Dans grandma really makes me cry. The imahes we see of the younger her (when Dan was a child) compared to the her right now... its hard to even recognize her.
It hits very close to home for me. My grandmother was the same. I remember her as full of life and hard working. She always had a smile on her face. But the last time I saw her in the hospital, i did not recognize her. She was unconchous, and i just remember standing there thinking i was next to a stranger.
Its a truly unforgettable feeling. In your mind you want to remember the person in their best, with the biggest smile on their face. But when youre faced with reality, you refuse to even believe it.
This is one of those stories you wish to see a rebirth version of. I want to see a good ending. I want to see the seme getting what he deserves. But this story is so beautiful because there is nothing like that. This is a raw and realistic story without any cheap drama or tricks. As much as I dream about these characters getting their happy ending, i know in reality that wouldnt happen...

Just finished reading the novel (still have the side stories to go) and I have to say this is probably one of the best stories Ive read in years.
Theres a constant sadness and feeling of dread, but everything was so well written and felt very satisfying till the end.
The manhwa is only about 1/3 of the way there, highly recommend picking up the novel to anyone as impatient as I was! (We're at around chap 67 of the novel, took me about a week to read the whole thing but Im a slow reader)
Can you link the novel?? I want to read it!
Is it a sad ending or happy one tho?
Pass the link

Cand you please spoil me if Gwen is with Nain in the end?
Do you have a link to the novel? I only made it a little farther than the manwha before the site i was reading it on went down
https://littlepinkstarfish.wpcomstaging.com/2025/04/23/tststp-prologue/
these only go to ch 100 or smth, so after those are done, go here
https://kiwikiwikiwiki.wordpress.com/2025/08/05/the-serpent-who-swallowed-a-pomegranate-chapter-102/
Which chapter should i continue from?
The little starfish translations only go till chapter 101, kiwi has the rest from 102 till the end. I can't vouch for the tl quality, I haven't read the novel yet
The links Rayy send are the exact places I read it from! Translations on the latter are done with AI/MTL so have the common problem kf mixing up he/him/she/her sometimes, but other then that the quality was pretty good (also names are different in all the translations).
As for spoilers

I wont spoil too much, because I seriously want people to read this for themselves, so my spoilers might leave you with more questions then answers but what I can say is:
- We will get to learn a lot about Gwens backround, and as some suspected here, he is from another world (tho this is not uncommon in this world) (it is implied that he is very very old)
- the labyrinth of mages is cool as heck, I wish there was a novel dedicated to it (especially its creator, who is appearently the cause of why transmigrators from other worlds are so common... all because of his love/obsession for someone)
- if you hate Lu/Ru rn, you will love him by the end. He is going to stick aroind. Same with Yi Wu the bodyguard / battle priest
- we will learn all about Amon and Nines backrounds, I think like 10+ chapters dedicated ro Amon and Nines first meeting all the way to where we are rn in time
- they are both thoulsands of years old, Id estimate nine to be around 2k, but we dont know for certain, Nines whole life story is beautiful and tragic. Made me cry a lot... especially the child....
And the ending is hard to describe. In some ways its haply, in others its quite pessimistic. You question if anything changed, and you hate some characters whilw fully understanding the reasons for their actions. I have very mixed feelings on it so dont know if its a happy or a sad ending, but from a readers prespective it is a very good way to end the story.
