Each chapter is filled with suspense because the FL can’t afford to make any mistakes if she doesn’t want to turn back time because her blessing (now feel like a curse). And here, the king is portrayed as someone who is truly feared, not a foolish king who’s merely hungry for power and women, as is common in most manhwa.
He even keeps the FL around just for his own amusement, like a predator toying with its prey.
I think there was more to it than just amusement, he felt betrayed that she was close with his brother like something his was taken.

We are still in the rising action part of the story. The climax is nowhere close. She has to gain allies and pull together enough strength to actually defeat him. If she did so now, she would lose once again.
I get what you mean. But in my case, what’s boring me is how the romance between the FL and the ML is dampening my enthusiasm for reading. I’m reading this because I heard the FL holds a deep grudge against her ex (she’s been betrayed and killed by him more than once).
At the beginning of the chapter, I was really caught up in the excitement because she was enthusiastically plotting her revenge, and I was eager to see how she’d carry it out.
