Yeah I think it was part of the glitch/bug that isn't fixed yet. It's so inconsistent

I talked to ~2 people yesterday (still waiting for one to respond) but they checked some manga and they had updated but they didn't get the notif for it yet

not sure if true, but ive definitely read a few articles on this. the reason is stated to be that they want to increase immigration (prob cause declining birth rates??)

If you look into the website itself they have several articles that are just meant to be funny satire.

but it's freaking hilarious and doesn't sound too real. Looks like satire. So unless a credible site/source says anything or I see riots in the news, I wouldn't believe anything.

Adressing your concerns with the anime not updating (im in the same situation) i think its just due to the new year splitting up the schedule.
