It’s been a while since I read a GL, and I just saw this story on my TikTok fyp, and honestly. It was okay. I loved the art and the setting itself, but honestly, the MC, the American woman, was doing too much, if you ask me. I get that she’s supposed to be a yearner, but at the same time I felt like the entire relationship was so unbalanced for a while until closing into the very end of the story. I honestly found Dr. Lee very interesting though, even though she herself can be considered a flawed character. I do think the characters are pretty well written in some circumstances, but I honestly found it a bore sometimes, and I couldn’t really get into the story .
The art looks amazing, I’ll admit that, but honestly, it weirds me out how this type of thing is romanticized. The mc is taking care of the ml as a child, and once the child is of age, they fuck . It genuinely weirds me out how many stories I’ve seen with a similar storyline to this from a romantic perspective; it just grosses me out, tbh. I’m sure the story has a interesting plot, but I’m just gonna drop this
I’ve finally caught up with this story, and honestly, there are some things that I liked, and others that I didn’t. First, the main couple is pretty cute, though I wouldn’t say I was completely entertained or on the edge of my seat whenever something happened. I did enjoy the slice-of-life feel of their relationship, and, honestly, I adored the ML.
Now, secondly, the situation with the second couple.
I did not enjoy them together at all. Yes, I felt that the main couple was pretty rushed, but this pairing?? I just felt like there should’ve been more time for them to develop, not as a couple yet, but to get to know each other far better, to understand each other, and, honestly, to help each other grow. I felt like there wasn’t much of that, and I was so disappointed. I wouldn’t say it was a slow burn, but they definitely needed more development. Even if the silver-haired guy helped the alpha slowly get out of his comfort zone, I think there should’ve been more. I pictured more of a friendship between these two than a relationship icl. And thirdly, the latest chapters.
What the fuck was that??? I get that it’s their first time, but if someone is telling you to stop, you stop. It was pretty forceful, and I couldn’t stand the beta at all, which made me dislike him even more as a person. The alpha did talk about his past, and bottoming was a completely new experience for him, but the silver-haired guy genuinely did not give a fuck and wasn't patient at all. It was uncomfortable reading all that, and I would've preferred to see chapters where the alpha became more social, learned to love right, and grew as a person, because I really liked how he changed after we were first introduced to him in the story. But then this happened. Idk, this just gave me the ick.
I found the art of this bl on TikTok, and I thought that it looked interesting, two attractive men who are cowboys?? I was soo hyped, however, I did not know that the whole setting and story is… this.
What shocks me is how the creator decided to make a story like this in the first place, plus the last bit of dialogue? Insane. I’m just glad they decided to cancel this, because, honestly, this bl would’ve become even more problematic if it had continued. Romanticizing slavery??? I just saw a comment literally brushing off the movie Pocahontas, claiming it never received criticism, when it clearly did for a long time. Plus, someone said that ‘it’s not that deep’. Are you fucking kidding me??
I don’t think I’ve read this creator’s other stories, however, I feel like a lot of BL creators brush aside things like rape, domestic violence, and such, that this creator just decided to brush aside racism and slavery and romanticize it with white savior complex. WTF. I’m just glad that at least 50% of commenters are also calling this out
If there’s anyone who can recommend me an actual good cowboyxcowboy story, please put a few recommendations

I read "Kiss Me If You Can," and I completely loved it. Now, after reading some comments for this bl, they’re talking about this bl but in the novel and how misunderstood Grayson is. From what I’m picking up, so far from the manhwa, he’s very childlike, going along with what his father says at his grown age, having his own forms of belief. He’s very odd in general, and he doesn’t sound very humane from the way he talks to others.
I’m sure I’ll understand him as a character eventually; however, I cannot set aside his actions towards others. Like, for example, what he did to his brother. I can't separate one thing from the other, Idk, I can’t bring myself to like this guy as a romantic love interest for Daze. I like Daze though, but Grayson… he’s just stale for me yk? Plus, idk if it’s me, but the art isn’t the same as "Kiss Me If You Can"; it kind of looks downgraded…
Just finished this bl, it was cute, I’ll admit, I’d read it again.
I really loved seeing how cute the ML was towards the MC, and how they both had each other’s backs. I do have a few little complaints though….
For starters, I seriously wished that we got more chapters in the main plot, like, don’t get me wrong, I was really invested, but I felt that it was a bit too rushed. Idk if it was just me who thought that, but I really wanted more scenes between the whole revenge plot against the MC’s boss/ex bsf after what he did to him, though I’m glad that he got beaten the shit out of him at the very end. Plus, when they mentioned all these different animal groups, dogs, foxes, horses, and so on, I really wanted to see more involvement with other groups, plus side characters as well. But they just moved through the story quickly, headed to meet the ML’s family, and ended it by getting to the ex-boss/bsf.
Another thing is that I wanted a bit more of scenes where these two fall more in love, because again, a little too rushed? Like things moved on too quickly between these two. Though they really are cute . Overall, I just wanted more. More story-building, more development of the relationship, but while reading some comments, supposedly the OG creator had something going on with their health, so I do understand that they need to put themselves first. I hope they get better.
This has gotta be the cutest BL’s I’ve read. I found myself enjoying each chapter, whether it’s a chapter between the ML and MC (including sweet little Sol) or one where they're interacting with the side characters. I loved each chapter!
I even shed some tears over this BL, and the relationship between the two is so sweet, including the three becoming a family. I can’t wait for season 4 :)

I hope the author takes all the time they need, but I’m so impatient
