i think the issue this manhwa struggles with is the “no woman is more important than the mc” cliche where the mc always HAS to be the center of attention. this is not me hating on the mc but more so with the author’s choices. wdym diana had a loving husband and a brother but just because she’s dead now, all the attention is directed to the mc? so now the loving husband is fixated on his wife’s best friend? and the brother cares more about the mc than his dead sister who was most likely murdered? why can’t authors ever understand that having another female character does not mean the main female lead is less desirable? if they wanted to give the mc a variety of love interests, they could’ve made other characters but they deliberately chose the two men who were the closest to diana. like why does the mc care more about diana than diana’s own HUSBAND and BROTHER ?
YES, the set up is all about revolving around the murder investigation of her best friend. It's been 7 years yet there's no new information about it, ands it's not like there's huge childcare as one ran away and one doesn't interact. She is shown to be in isolation and running the house, and there were late night meeting to review documents. However nothing about murder other than the phrase they haven't found the culprit as she left the duke house.

Personally, I never read the Duke as loving Cassia romantically. If anything, he seems to treat her more like an accomplice or distant cousin. He doesn't even know until ch 19 that she likes painting. So, it seems they're just partners.
I did question about the murder sorta just being dropped but after 7 years with the case being I've cold, it makes sense that she gave up and just focused on protecting the house until the kids hit adulthood.

If they both lasted 100 days they become human husband and wife and have children. The two kinda fall in love as both experience a loneliness and being used by others, the tiger and bear doesn't fuck until the end. the tiger leaves the cave thinking hes pregnant and that is how it ends. the bear stays in and if you know the og story becomes a woman, sad to have no husband god takes he as his wife to have children.
She wanted avoid death by overwork, that makes sense with the mc past and think she can leave it to the story to run. Avoided taking resources from the og cast and even sees the main villain right there. Has a unique and especially strong talent that definitely can be useful to the literal demon issue. Had to jump through hoops to even quit cause she so rare. Now the story progression of the main protagonists are falling behind, and after thining her conclusion is "tough luck, i believe in your plot armour". However wouldn't a key factor of their progress be a dutiful, capable, and strong key figure thats overworked be the plot armour? The hints of oh, "people are gonna suffer" and "oh wait things are way worse than they should be", to then be like "not my problem". Girl you live there and know personally the people fighting to keep society normal. She has to think she'll step in a little cause how do you think you run a mercenary group without either address that disaster you know is coming. Sure it'll lose money, but how much money and free time in the moment worth when an entire wall in a country capital falls and it's literally at her home too. This isn't like oh a country invading that may kill basically who ever is in their way and the top brass but would keep commoners alive for their value, it's revive the demon by killing and human sacrifice to bring destruction.
