could have done without the coercion but the characters were great, the plot interesting and the worldbuilding kind of insane

Trash. It's incredibly baffling and disappointing that this and 'the betrayer sings a love song' could ever be written by the same person. Gross.

I liked this and their relationship a lot so this might be nitpicking, but I wish the mental health aspect was taken a bit more seriously/realistically. He was very obviously at least moderately and probably severely depressed but it feels like he 'bounced back' way to quickly/ easily. Even if he didn't get completely 'cured' immedietely, he still got significantly better (being able to clean, taking care of himself and his appearence, going back to work so soon, etc.) just because someone was a bit nice to him. Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that no matter how romantic it seems. You don't go from being unable to get out of bed or wash yourself to buying new clothes and styling your hair in like a week. Not to mention there was never any professional help of any kind or even any conversation about it. Anyway, all that said, I think the author seems to be kind of aware of this since they'd somehow throw in a line of him being tired in the midst of this progress, so maybe it was just a matter of space/time and this could have been handled even better if the manga was longer.

Love this story so much, as an aroace person I relate so much to Yuriko. It's mad annoying how obsessed society is with marriage and children. So many moments in this made my soul hurt. I was lucky to find out I'm aspec at a pretty young age (12) so I didn't go through a lot of feeling of alienation, isolating and 'brokeness', but that scene at the bar in seattle was extremely frustrating and painful, I can't imagine how lost you might feel not having a name for this exprerience, not even knowing if "there's something wrong" with you or not. I'm glad they have each other now and more than anything I;m glad they author stuck to it and didn't change their feeling or have them actually end up with kids etc. The story and the realism was just so good.

I like reunion/ second-chance/ disappearing and getting back together tropes a lot, but they are rarely ever done right. You need to give me actual reasons for both the disappearence and why no contact was attempted. This was not a valid one. Literally nothing was stopping you from talking about your family and your plan beforehand and then nothing was stopping you from reaching out for 7 years after. Send a damn later. Not even for your condolences? I can't take the longing or the love or the tragedy serieously when there was zero reason for it.
Even being scared because things ended up in a very bad way last time would be more valid than this.
That said, I did like the story in general and the art is gorgeous.

I really love this story and the characters but this is getting predictable and repetitive. The stakes are actually minimal and no matter how creative and hype you make the fights, it can't entirely compensate for the lack of plot. In earlier chapters there were the small arcs and all the character interactions and there was a point and a direction in the story. Lately it's just been [challenge/ambush -> fight (always win) -> recover] and then rinse and repeat.
I did like the last fight and it was vindicating but my investment in the story is definitely starting to descrease. All that to say, I still love this and will continue reading, but I hope something actually intriguing happens again.
