Quite disappointed in this one. It seems the only way Korean authors know how to portray pain and suffering is through rape and nothing else. Nobody wants to branch away from this same thing it’s so tiring and boring. Just put down the pen atp.
They could've portrayed his anger so many more ways. Making Yujin jealous, yelling, shouting, screaming, arguements even making Yujin go through the same pain he went through— anything but rape. But nooo they had to go through this slop
That’s what I’m saying! So many different ways to show suffering that could have been unique. And I know the author said this season was going to be more pain which is fine but when the only way you know how to show more pain is rape and literallly everyone else is doing that… it could have been executed so well but it’s just the same as whatever’s come before
I get the author is going for this super cryptic and mysterious vibe for the plot but it’s being so poorly executed. Like you gotta give us something to work with you just randomly have the characters talk about the “novel” for a bit and then there’s no follow-up and nobody says anything outright and direct to the bottom. And of course he just keeps getting worse and worse physically and mentally.
No, in the novel it really was well executed. It kept me from not really knowing if he was in a novel or if he was just insane for a while. And there was just this sense of unease the entire time while reading, but this adaptation is just not that good unfortunately. And like you said, it's not giving the same feeling and intrigue of the novel
