Honestly this is one of my favorite webtoons right now. Such a breath of fresh air and so entertaining and the art is lovely... I'm having a great time.
He was there at the hospital, losing sleep, screaming and crying and then... Never shows up again while Dan is conscious? Just holds his hand while Dan sleeps or something? Ughhh what a downer. Can't believe I have to wait another 10 days to move past this stupid nonsense.

This trend of men doing some kind of... Upward facing dog pose to push their junk in is crazy. Have you ever tried to push your hips forward with your legs flat on the bed? It's not possible lol. I guess you could maybe use your feet to push but... Why?! Why aren't their knees bent? It drives me crazy.
Honestly, I started around chapter 20 because that's about when a manhwa starts to unravel if it's weak, the art might change, the dialogue will show its true colors... But I was hooked. I was reading it at work. I was completely immersed. Also very very impatient. I skipped over several chapters but at the end, I feel pretty good about my grasp on events since the characters recounted everything. The twist was so good, I really never saw it coming. This would make for a great K-drama.
Oh Jaekyung. He needs therapy. The mental kind. But he’s not gonna get that so let’s just hang tight for this emotional rollercoaster ig?
Well I binged that in one day. Wow. The art was not bad, honestly. I love the shiny eyes and old-fashioned feel of it. I loved all the dialogue and the bickering and inner thoughts. I love that it was a whole story, not just a part of their relationship. Probably one of the best stories I’ve read as a webcomic. I will remember it for a very long time.
We all knew it was coming soon… also we don’t know how soon, just that it’ll be soon. Kinda ambiguous. I thought y’all would be excited that the boys are finally trauma bonding. I mean, the last panel was very sweet, of baby Jaekyung being seen. Now he just needs to say the words, “I’ll be here for you. Not because I feel sorry for you, or because I feel guilty. Because I want to be by your side… If you’ll accept me.” Say those words !!
After reading chapter 34 I think I wanna drop it. She’s literally betraying Haesu for no reason and re-traumatizing him by listening to other people instead of just talking to him and waiting for him to tell her what happened. He promised to tell her!!! I don’t understand T-T Haesu deserves better.
Uh what’s with chapter 9?! The bubbles aren’t filled. Sorry to complain about free translation but… it’s really upsetting that I can’t read it T_T

Aw guys, he really likes her. Maybe not romantically, but as HIS person. It’s going to end tragically I’m sure, because he knows she won’t accept his real self who’s murderous (he’s killed many people and I think he has a kill quota or some milestone he needs to reach to be free of the school), but he’s obsessively hopeful that she’ll be his forever friend. He doesn’t think about killing her either, just about her taking him places and reaching out to him with a smile. He’s touch-starved because of his black splotch condition so he keeps wanting to touch her but can’t :(
I just looked up when the first amusement park was founded in Korea. Apparently 1973, but it’s unclear if it would have been considered an amusement park. The first major theme park development was in 1989. So… it could be that they didn’t have a modern amusement park and, because he was a loner, he may not have even known about their existence. He may be just telling the truth and only be 10 years dead. Or he may be 30+ years dead. Depends on what the author considers “amusement park” to be or Hae-su’s knowledge of the world.
Either way, he’s confused. He wants to leave but he also says he’s content. He mostly wants revenge, so he’s malevolent. But he’s still carrying the loneliness of his past life so he years for real connections even though it’s impossible. Also, if this story isn’t using mostly fictional elements, he could have died from necrotizing fasciitis by having a wound in the pond or something. What a fun concept. Love the mystery aspects.
For anyone interested who is holding back because they’re worried it’ll be too scary—it’s not even close to as scary as most horror video games like Deep Space or Silent Hill. Just a bit unsettling with the teeth and eyes. I honestly think “Dreaming of the Dokkaebi” has creepier ghosts/monsters.
The author has shingles?! That sucks. Actually, speaking of shingles; Unconventional Love Story is one of my favorite manga from the same mangaka who is working on Melting Point. Go read both if you haven’t!
