I read the manhwa first then the spoilers and I genuinely thought Rahman would end up being a likable character. But after reading the manhwa properly, then finishing the novel and now this chapter… ngl for some reason rahman just isn’t very likable to me anymore He’s giving me the ick
Anyway, the cover though... oh my goddess it’s absolutely gorgeous ┗( T﹏T )┛
SPOILER!!
So I like this manhwa and I’m so tempted to read it but then I found out they would have three babies, a human girl (?), a black and white snaks babies and those snake babies get their own story too… except it’s incest (black big and top while white is small and bottom)
The story is Beastly Nature, which I actually read years ago and I just found out today that the main story is Snake Hole.
So lol… little spoiler, the black and white snake literally sees his father fucking, and the kids get sent to boarding school instead of being raised by them??? Also ML isn't actually a good father, the babies too doesn't care about their parents lol
This plot is insane..
Y’ll should read this novel and the author’s other novels. All of them are really good ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
I’m SO sorry it’s not Bad Hard Boys. It’s a different novel!!!!
Bad Guy on Top Of A Bad Guy is the novel. It same universe but only the MC from Things That Deserve to Die appears. The appearance is very brief and happens at the end lol.
Bad Guy on Top of Bad Guy, I highly recommend reading this!!
Here's my review, I wrote in novel updates:
[ As for the novel itself, tbh, I’m not a fan of greedy, manwhorish MCs. BUT when I actually read it, I fell in love with the MC (Baek Su-hyun). He loves money (he was a thief and would “betray” anyone for money — not really though) and he’s damn cute and chaotic.
This novel is reaaally good. The plot isn’t too heavy, there’s no non-con, and it never makes you hate either the ML (Yang Ho-beom) or the MC. Every character is beautifully written.
The ML’s love for the MC is so deep, he’d do anything for him. He’d hand over money, diamonds, or even that Buddha statue (though deep down, he worried the MC might run away if he gave it, lol).
Novel: 11/10
Also, Things That Deserve to Die and this novel exist in the same universe. The MC has subtle interactions with TTDTD’s MC. When Su-hyun was shopping for a floral shirt for Ho-beom, I had a gut feeling we might see TTDTD’s MC—and I was right, yaaay! ]
↑ Novel Updates review.
And about Bad Hard Boys, I don’t know if you’ve read the manhwa Sweet Shot or not but they’re set in the same universe. This novel is good too! Friends to lovers, but not your typical friends to lovers story hehe. I’ve also written a review for this one on Novel Updates as well!
I’ve read soooooo many BL novels… here are some I’m recommending:
The Word of Contrasts (Omegaverse, not a pathetic little omega. MC is a gangster and ML is a yandere psychopath. I’m currently reading this.)
Steal Your Name Object
House of the Fog (Finished a few days ago. It’s a very sweet Omegaverse. I’ve also written a review for this on Novel Updates.)
My Bloody Valentine (If you like daaaaaark, this one’s my fav)
There are more than 100 novels I’ve finished and about 50 are still ongoing (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
Ohhh i seee and LMFAOO OFC JAKYUNG WOULD BE THERE to buy a Hawaiian shirt and oh my god i love your review and the story is right up my alley, I LOVE IT SMMM when mls are whipped and ready to do anything for their mc!!!
I haven't read the manhwa sweet shot unfortunately, but now that you say that bhb is not your typical friends to lovers, that makes me veryyy intrigued to read it (。・//ε//・。)
oh my god, ilysmmm for recommending all these, the world of contrasts seems soo good omg I might just start this one. And wow more than 100 novels!!? that's soo commendable, I've only ever read TTDTD till the end lmaoo. Is it okay with you if I were to give you the review of the novels you recommended me once I'm done with it? i lovee discussing aspects i liked and my thoughts on it. also, I'm gonna follow you cuz I've ALWAYS wanted to be friends with a novel reader cuz I'm just so damn lost on what I'm supposed to read and what's worth reading and what's not, I'm soo grateful for you to recommend me all this!!
Yeah you can say I’m a hardcore BL novel reader. I’ve read Korean BLs, Chinese danmei and MM novels and I even have physical copies too (MDZS: I have the manhua, novel and the limited edition novel and TGCF and more and a few MM novels like God of Fury). I don’t know if you’ve read any of these or not lol.
So there was this one time I saw a novel on Ridibooks (a Korean BL novel site). I started reading it because the cover and description were nice. But on Ridibooks, you have to pay to purchase chapters but the novel had one free chapter per day. I read it every day, one free chapter daily. It took me four months to finish it… (I’m broke T-T)
And honestly I still read on Ridibooks if I find a good novel there.
Omg yes yes no problem! I’ve never found someone to share novel reviews so I started writing reviews on novel updates (its been a year) annnnnd t’s nice to meet you and let me know your thoughts/reviews!
Following you too ♡
ive sm to learn from you lolol, I've only read 1 danmei called "This damned thirst for survival" i don't think I completed it even help what are MM novels btw? also IM SO JEALOUS OMGG I want TGCF's physical copies too i have only read TGCF's manhwa but well that got discontinued so there's that.
Also wow that's some dedication omg reading everyday for so long. Are the novels on ridibooks translated in english?
girll you've me now, send me your novel updates acc link, i wanna read the reviews you've left!! im a slow reader so you'll have to wait quite a while but yess I'll def text you the reviews once im done!!
Don’t learn from me I read bl novels mainly for emotional stimulation and escapism. Reading has been my passion since childhood so it just stuck with me.
MM is basically bl, men × men. I might be wrong but I think mm is mostly written by western authors?
Yeah sadly TGCF is discontinued. And tbh (sadly) tgcf isn’t in my top list. If you’re interested, you should read other works by the same author, MDZS is my alltime fav. If you like dark danmei definitely try BAB (I even have physical copies) 2HA and Thousand Autumns which is another fav of mine. I don’t know if you’ve read it Little Mushroom is also great, it’s danmei and manhua here (last year I ordered novel but the b*tch Amazon gave me pirated copies)
Ridibooks is a website and an app but the website is mainly used. And nope, all korean bl novels there are in korean so you have to rely on google translate.
Or you can take ss and ask si to translate them (I’ve done that once too and currently doing this for I’m Your Ex-Wife since the translator hasn’t translated the last 70 chapters yet and I’m almost done)
This is my novel updates link, https://www.novelupdates.com/user/620141/somethvin/
Go to review section, if you can’t find lemme know that
I just started writing reviews so there aren’t many.
Also I finished The World of Contrasts, yesterday I started Barge In. It has a manhwa here.
I read for emotional stimulation and escapism too lol, well mostly manhwas but might as well add novels to that list now more so cause I just finished reading all your reviews and omg the way you write them totally makes me wanna read the stories!!! And I love how all your reviews have criticism for the ai translators, which is very well needed!! I swear proof reading is so easy if you know basic English but those translators can't be bothered to do that.
I especially loved your review for Heat guiding and i added it to my tbr cuz I'm a big sucker for stories with the "villain who burns the whole world for you" trope!! I've heard a lotta good stuff about mdzs but yet to read it, I'll def add the dark danmeis you recommended to my list tyy. And yess ik about little mushroom, the manhua's art is soo ethereal omg, i haven't read the novel yet tho, sad you got pirated copies
Thank youu for telling me about ridibooks, i got curious and searched up the novel you mentioned AND ITS BL??? i totally thought it was straight from the title omg and the cover art is so good too!! lemme know if you'd recommend this story heh.
Barge in, the manhwa, is in my marinating list since I like to read completed stories, didn't know it had a novel too wow.
Hehe thank you <3
Heat Guiding is mostly smut remember that!
I don’t even care if you’re translating using ai but where’s the effort? Pronouns, names, titles so many mistakes. Some lines don’t make sense, some paragraphs are missing and some are repeated. And on top of that, you have to wait a whole year to read complete novel it because it’s behind a paywall.
What’s worse is that there are dumb kinds of readers who just give money to the translator. Cmon why don’t you just buy it from Ridibooks and translate it yourself? Use ai if you want but don’t give money to these socalled translators. I saw one of them from the Lillyonthevalley scan group they wanted to go to Japan and got more than $500 in donations
That’s the reason I started giving reviews so people know it’s ai and there’s zero effort.
Greedy smh
I’m Your Ex-Wife is a good guideverse novel. I haven’t finished it yet (I could finish it soon but ) but there’s another guideverse novel that also has a manhwa and it was really good! (A Guide to Succeed, loved the novel)
As for Barge In, I don’t recommend the novel. If you really want, you can read the manhwa but it’s just torture rape and more torture. I haven’t finished it anyway, the site is down.

Yll may hate me for this but from the moment I saw Jaeui in the manhwa, I just didn't like his character at all. Ik he's a genius with idgaf attitude but the way he treats his own twin, Taeui is completely unacceptable to me!
When Rahman threatened to kill Taeui, what did Jaeui say? "If he dies I die too" the thing is, Jaeui doesn't give a damn about anyone except himself lol. And in the novel, when Taeui got beaten up by Rahman's soldiers, Jaeui acted completely normal and didn't even ask for ointment for him, a servant was the one who gave Taeui the ointment anway that part was changed in the manhwa.
And don't come at me saying that Jaeui loved Taeui. Because of Jaeui, Taeui suffered a lot and i my opinion, Jaeui just used him for his own motives and that's it!
Im so happy that he and rahman doesn't have their own book
Idk man, what do u want jaeui to do? Become iron man and kill everyone? He doesn't look like he can beat up anyone. He's a genius but his strength could not even take down a woman. He kinda sucks
Nope, I didn't ask/want Jaeui to do anything extraordinary... the bare minimum he could have done was be a better older brother. To me, he just used Taeui because Taeui was his Gilsangcheon. He should have told him everything before cutting that thread. And tbh the only thing that guy ever did for our Taeui was cut that freaking thread and even then, it didn't really help... no, actually it did do something — it sent Taeui into Unhrdo and made him suffer even more there... :)
I love Ilay (very much) for Taeui but Taeui has suffered so much because of the psychos around him and because of his brother too...
Give me an example of bare minimum. Jaeui and Taeui are powerless against men who are raised how to shoot and kill ever since they were a kid. Jaeui and Taeui only had like 2 years military experience not enough to take down grown men who have years of experience. Do u want jaeui to negotiate with rahman, by giving conditions? What makes u think rahman will immediately give in?
Why are you being so defensive over a side character? Lmfao???? And read it again, "And in the novel, when Taeui got beaten up by Rahman's soldiers, Jaeui acted completely normal and didn't even ask for ointment for him, a servant was the one who gave Taeui the ointment anway that part was changed in the manhwa."
Now where the fuck did I ever say that Jaeui had to fight? I never mentioned that at all. My point was about his lack of concern for Taeui, not whether he should've fought anyone
Brother, do u fucking think at all? Hesus Christ
And you seem very stupid to me
It is the same for me too
I dislike both Jaeui and their uncle
They treat taeui like a game's pawn, not like a family member
So I am grateful that taeui has Ilay who is his one and only
I keep seeing the issue of ointment cropping up and I don't think that's the most important takeaway. In the novel, yes, a servant is the one to bring Taeui medicine, but there's zero indication that Jaeui wouldn't do the same. By the time Jaeui sees his brother, he already has some.
In fact, the first time Jaeui brings up leaving is after seeing Taeui's condition which would imply concern for his well-being. Taeui and Jaeui do not communicate well with each other, leading to misunderstandings, but there's no denying the care underneath it all.
Brother, you seem done over this exchange. Did u give up halfway?
Dou think this is the first time Jaeui got kidnapped? He probably did the same thing Taeui did but he got screwed over. Also do u think if Jaeui asks his kidnapper ointment nicely, do u think, he will give it to him? Do u think he's on vacation in Saudi? Do u ever bother thinking at all. Be careful who u call stupid, the call is coming from the inside.
"Brother, you seem done over this exchange. Did u give up halfway?"
Again you're proving my point that you're stipid bc what I'm saying is completely going over your head. I'm not hating Jaeui, I'm simply saying that I dislike his character. Me disliking a side character made you this sensitive? Lol.
Rahman didn't mistreat Jaeui at all. Despite kidnapping him for months, he gave Jaeui a luxurious life. He let him go outside to the marketplace, provided him with books, respected his boundaries and gave him enough freedom.
Also Jaeui and Rahman would even meet at night just to talk. In Chapter 128, Jaeui talks about his childhood and realizes that the person he thought was Rahman was actually Taeui.
"He probably did the same thing Taeui did but he got screwed over."
If you mean that Jaeui tried to struggle and got screwed over then you're clearly wrong. In Chapter 125, it's explicitly stated that Jaeui never tried to escape because he found the place "comfortable"
"Also do u think if Jaeui asks his kidnapper ointment nicely, do u think, he will give it to him? Do u think he's on vacation in Saudi?"
If Rahman could give Jaeui whatever he wanted, I'm pretty sure he could provide some mere ointment for his own twin right? No, he wasn't on vacation but he was definitely receiving luxurious treatment from Rahman.
"Do u ever bother thinking at all. Be careful who u call stupid, the call is coming from the inside."
If I wasn't thinking, I wouldn't have written my previous comments. I've read both the manhwa and the novel to make sure I wasn't saying something incorrect.
Again, I never said Jaeui shpuld be fighting anyone or do anything extraordinary. I'm simply saying that showing concern for his twin brother is the bare minimum.
And earlier, you said "Jaeui and Taeui only had like 2 years military experience"
Nope. Jaeui never served in the military. And every time Jaeui was kidnapped, he came back safe obviously because of Taeui is his Gilsangcheon.
Anyway, I think it's best to end this discussion here because we clearly won't agree. I respect your opinion even if you can't accept mine.
I hope what you're saying is correct bc honestly, I don't know... to me, Jaeui and Uncle never really felt like they "cared" at least not in an obvious way. I've only read the Passion novel so far and I'm thinking about reading DS too, I want to see how things develop between Jaeui and Taeui and where their relationship goes from there...
Yeah, I understand where you're coming from. Jaeui doesn't tell Taeui what he's thinking half the time, Chang-in takes advantage of Taeui to further his own goals, and it feels like Taeui constantly gets the short end of the stick, but the twins love each other unconditionally. Taeui and Jaeui both prioritize each other pretty much whenever they can even though Jaeui seems cold when you only view his words or lack thereof.
DS contains significant milestones for Iltae's relationship and Suite has a lot of emotional payoff if you manage to stick with the series after the first novel's ending which can be unsatisfying. Either way, I hope you enjoy whatever you read no matter how far you go. o/
You clearly don't respect my opinion.
"Rahman didn't mistreat Jaeui at all. Despite kidnapping him for months, he gave Jaeui a luxurious life. He let him go outside to the marketplace, provided him with books, respected his boundaries and gave him enough freedom."
Probably because rahman wanted something out of Jaeui.
Yeah I know that
