I happen to like slice of life but even I'll admit there were some parts that were kinda boring in this veeerry slow burn novel. Her husband only appeared maybe 5 times within 100 chapters and he pmo every single time! Pushy, arrogant and annoying prick who's also inconsiderate. Not the worst but also unlikable imo. I dropped bc I frowned every time he appeared and she honestly has no chemistry with him. All their interactions are basically her making concessions to his sudden requests. The audacity? The entitlement?! Miss me with that.
There's much more focus on world building but some of it is boring bc it's just vague details or general knowledge we already know and the high praise of it all gives me secondhand embarrassment. I did actually enjoy the side characters pov on their lifestyle tho. It was so cozy!
Another thing that made me uncomfortable was the wizard guy (an og love interest) starts spending a LOT of time with Rena (y'know the child!!!) bc "her perspective is fresh". It wasn't such a big deal at first but then we're told they spent of time together alone even outside scenes written and FL even questions this (she had no idea). He saids it's platonic but I feel like there's implications there and it makes me sick! It became weird bc author made it weird! They could've just written it as a "she's a promising talent I'd like to mentor and sometimes learn from" but no, they're joined at the hip day and night and he even sleeps over? Wtf? I had to drop
The chemistry and relationship progression is so natural and cute but MORE IMPORTANTLY, her family is so, so supportive and all ALIVE. Do you know how shocked I was?? Mom alive AND siblings cute and loving?! Love to see it ( ╥﹏╥)
Running around like chickens without their heads. In the face of stronger power, most ppl back down even if they don't actually want to but these idiots charge straight to their deaths. Ig they're easy and maybe fun to hate since they're all bad, absolutely no good but I don't feel much vindication at their downfalls bc they typically don't even feel any regret or remorse till the end. Even on the chopping block, they're still spewing hate towards mc. My petty ahh can't even see their fear? We know they're afraid!!

I've seen the "she looks like a child" comments since forever and kinda ignored them bc as a shortie myself I get that alot (￣∇￣") and when the love interests are around her age, I ignore it even more but lately even I think some of these protags are children (not even young teens, straight up KIDS) in both looks AND mentally while the MLs are fully adults and it's deeply concerning.
I hate hate HATE the "historically accurate" excuse too bc it's literally fantasy? Magic and fairies aren't "historically accurate" guys! There's basically nothing accurate about these medieval inspired stories so why make these disgusting choices? It's written by modern women for the modern audience. We can choose NOT to have age gap child brides pls ╥﹏╥ put yourself the the guy's shoes. Coming across such a kid, would you feel romantic or worse, physical attraction ever? Even when they're older? HELL NO! I'd feel like an older sister who needs to protect them! Why make such an optional choice?!!
