Yeah, second ml came to him when he was about to die and asks him if he wanna redo everything. The father knew he screwed things up BAD, so he would turn back time and he let his daughter have her memory intact in that lifetime in exchange for his soul. Yada, yada, yada, still a shitty father in my opinion.
