I think maybe it was a coincidence Silon saw Jun at his mom's funeral while traveling to Korea (to possibly get partner's stuff since he might be part Korean??) and in his grief, clocked how similar his partner-lab rat boo thang kinda looked like young Jun and in a twisted sense of holding on decided to lock in on the kid since then. Not coincidentally being there at Jun's funeral since Silon's been following him on the outside for some time.
