He does get his old memory back and his lovey dovey phase was not erased per se but he doesn't acknowledge it. The memories keep popping in his mind now and then(mostly the sexy times). But i think you needn't worry, they won't be at odds for long. Ive started and finished reading it yesterday and I was worried id be stuck at a cliffhanger by the end but it was a prelude to their relationship getting back to normal.

After finishing it for the second time, with a lump in my throat and a sense of emptiness—but also happiness—I can say it’s one of the best stories I’ve ever read. I first read it years ago, and recently it came back to mind, so I decided to reread it. Such a beautiful choice—read it!
It will make you angry at times, but in the end it will give you relief and comfort. With great lows always come great highs. The ending is perfect—everything is perfect. The story is engaging and never predictable, and the character development and dynamics are outstanding.
It’s beautiful to see how the characters return to being genuine—Skylar going back to her old self, and Cirrus finding himself again after so long, discovering what it means to be happy and not have to envy others.
This story will stay in my heart forever, and I hope I’ll remember it in a few years so I can read it again with the same intensity.
