This was an okay story, kinda disappointed with some events but oh well everyone seems to be doing fine
this kinda had me puking bcs wdym it reaches that far the smut is fire
finally caught up. man, this definitely took a turn. i cant unsee and unvibe everything i learned after that backstory
The author rlly giving us crumbs about MC,,, hiding it all behind his life as an Anonymous cheesy author
Dont get me wrong, although the MC is really funny, im about to be annoyed by the way heâs yearning for that director. like how delusional can you be? unfortunately i think i too, am delusional like that
i usually am able to digest these types of stories with ease, but apparently this one decided to become special and traumatic for me so ig im dropping this
Iâve finally caught up with the novel after 2 days. I canât believe itâs still ongoing, but I smell that itâs getting closer to the outcome we really want!!
Ngl, this is really hard to make a detailed (or even just a simple) spoiler, it has so many arcs and the spoilers wonât do justice. I urge people to read the novel too and come back to the manhwa~
with all the spoilers n shit, i jus rlly want a fix-it story rn LMAOOOO because no fucking way am i gonna finish reading this manhwa with that ending
so this was really sad LMAO, i thought i had read this before but apparently not. I canât even skip much of the scenes because some plot is incorporated in it. Man, haewon i hope i escape
Proceed with caution if ya dont like spoilers, im dropping a placeholder text.

1. THE CHEF
Leaving off from when they enter the kitchen, they try to find something that could lead them to a hint. Alan (or Allen, I forgot) encounters the chef and tries to distract it to buy time for Richelle, but a crash caught its attention. The chef was about to go to where the sound was when Alan screamed for Richelle to hide, and he bled himself to bring the chefâs attention back to him. The chef is actually blind but has an extremely good sense of hearing and smell, and it loves the smell of human blood.
Richelle then hides in the freezer room, where she discovers the hanging corpse of Becky Dustin, and another rotting body by the name of George (I forgot his last name.) George catches Richelleâs attention, but during this, she senses that she needs to help Alan once again (she cannot ignore her instinct to hide while he risks his life once more). George stops her for a while and says that the chef is actually fire, and water is the only way to inflict damage. She doubts him, but she has no time to do that, and goes back for Alan and dumps water onto the chef.
The chef then turns into jelly (thatâs what the tl says). They have a cute moment there, but eventually move on to the freezer room, where she shows him the guy who helped her with this advice. Apparently the chef is still alive but weak, George says that the only way to fully kill it was to extinguish the purple flames around the kitchenâhe says he knows it because he has seen Rogers do that when the chef got on his bad side. They extinguish it, thus going back to the guy to learn more about him.
It turns out that George was a gardener for William Otisâwho was Alanâs grandfather. George was rather a curious person, and when it got to the best of him, Rogers punished him. He turned him into a decaying body that canât dieâthe chefâs favorite meal. Every time the chef eats him, his flesh regenerates back. Once the story was told, he asks them to grant him death by plucking the rose on his chest, which was the only one keeping him alive. Alan plucks it, and George thanks him (this was so sad guys).
2. JACQUELINE
The next plan was to enter the fourth floor. They discuss (plus cute interaction) and conclude that the head maid must have the keys to that floor (referencing the early chapters). Alan says that heâs going to find a way to get the key from the head maid. They retreat to their own rooms for the meantime. Richelle continues her tutoring, but is aware that with the chef gone, no one was in charge of the food. She tries to find for her, Alan, and the twins. The twins approach her and say that they do not need to eat anymore, because they feel that the flames of the chef were not present anymore. As she tries to find food for Alan, she encounters Madam Otis.
She invites Richelle to tea, and this scene implies that she knew about what Alan and Richelle were doing. She tells her to not to bother with the head maid because the key was with her. Itâs passed down from each Lady Otis of their generation, implying that Richelle might soon become the newly Madam Otis. She tells her story to Richelle (ITS SO SAD GUYS), and (again) it implies that her experience was not so different from the people before her.
Her name is Jacqueline Swann. So we all know she rose to fame, her story being a rags to riches kind. Rick Otis (Alanâs father) fell in love with her genuinely, even if he knew the fate that would befall her. Eventually she would try to persuade Rick to fight back against Rogers, but he was too resigned to his fate and has given up on it, so she does it on her ownâstating that she is not scared of Rogers INFRONT OF HIS FACE. Rogers goes along with it, but shatters her psyche when she discovers that he *kills* her twins (turns them into roses). She breaks even more when she realizes she cannot help Alan (poor guy really endured his abuse). She is granted material wealth when she married into the family, and so lavishly spending and dressing was her way of coping.
After their discussion, she tells Richelle to leave, saying that there is no way to help her. Richelle calls her by her name, Jacqueline, and this brought a faint smile to her face. She tells her to protect Alan, with that being her final wish. Richelle finally goes back to Alan and brings him food. She tells him that Jacqueline gave her the key, as well as what she told her. All this time, Alan had thought that his mother had lost herself to the roses, and that kinda repairs their relationship, and his thoughts about her a little bit. They talk a bit more, and then they will resume in the study once again.
Just as Richelle was headed to the study, the twins alert her of something about happening to Jacqueline. She rushes to where she may be, and there she was, hanging. Alan approaches the commotion but Richelle shields him away from the visual. He breaks down (genuinely was bawling here). They help bring down Jacqueline, and Alan says that they need to bury her before *they* do (the roses). Apparently, the fifth garden is a burial site for the Otis family, and that knowledge was passed down to the eldest child of the Otis so that one day they may do it when the time comes. The twins want to join but Alan refuses, they have like a bickering moment here (not cute) but eventually he agrees to itâRichelle convinces him about this because of the fact that the twins arenât fully corrupted, hence their ability to act like stubborn little shits.
3. THE FOURTH FLOOR
They head to the garden and bury Jacqueline there (RIP). The twins thank Richelle for convincing Alan, and in return, they will help them get to the fourth floor. They said that Rogers was weak enough to not have enough eyes watching the entire mansion, so they will help by distracting so that they may get to enter his domain, but they can only protect one person. It is decided that Richelle will be the one to enter, while Alan creates chaos as a temporary aversion to their plan. They proceed with this plan.
Entering the fourth floor, the twins quickly urge Richelle to leave them so that she can enter Rogerâs room. We all know they ainât surviving the shit thatâs protecting the room. Anyways, she makes it there and SEES THE DECAYING BODY OF RICK OTIS. He is the one that points to Charlotte Otisâ diary. Charlotte explains EVERYTHING IN HER DIARY.
4. THE BEGINNING OF SHIT
Apparently, it really did start with Neil Otis and his brother, Edgar Otis. Neil was a fucking bastard who blames his younger brother for the financial misfortune their family has because he was sickly. They soon get adopted (i think) by the Sylvester matriarch, and she favored Edgar over his brother. Edgar was a sweet, sickly boy who was too kind for his own good. He turns down the offer of becoming the future head of the Sylvester line, saying that his brother should have it. The Sylvester matriarch does not agree with him because Neil was such a dickhead, and urges Edgar to think about it.
One day, Edgar encounters a strange being. I always thought it resembled something like a fae, but apparently it ainât. This being was Rogers, way before he had a form and a name. He fell in love with Edgar because of his kindness and innocence (unclear if itâs platonic or romantic, but I like to think the whole thing happened because of doomed yaoi). Since he had no name previously, Edgar names him Rose, since that was his nickname due to his reddish-brown hair. They hung out in the forest often, until one day, Edgar couldnât. He had contracted pneumonia, and apologizes to Rose for not appearing. Rose asks him for what he wishes for, and this motherfucker wishes for ROSE TO HELP NEIL (christ Edgar). Rose actually was like, âbitch hello?? why tf u wanna help your bastard of a brotherâ but he couldnât refuse. Edgar dies and Rose fulfills his wish with a sense of hatred for Neil. He then takes on and grants Neil his wealth and stuff until he asks for a price. Neil is baffled by this, but then Rogers hits him with the âI did this for Edgarâ, and Neil was like âthatâs it! this must be his revenge to meâ like the asshole he is and ANGERS Rogers, saying that he will continue this thing, then he chooses the name Rogers for himself. Honestly Iâm getting sleepy atp, Iâm holding on just cuz i can.
Oh my god this is so long, so yes in the diary, she hints out the real name of Rogers (since there was a wager that all this would end if an outisder would guess the real name of Rogers). She also tells the story of how he kinda adored her for a while, but thatâs for you to find out in the manhwa, itâs not as relevant to the main plot. Anyways, she reveals that the current master of the house will not die until the eldest Otis child is of age. They will spend their final days rotting in Roseâs room.
5. THE ENDING OF SHIT
After reading all that, Rose appears behind Richelle and invites her to tea. Richelle tells him that his real name was Rogers, and the fucker doesnât keep the promise to end the whole thing, which angers Richelle. Because what do poor humans know other than being naive little creatures right? The reason why Rose was so kind to Richelle, was that because he is reminded or Edgarâwith green eyes exactly the same shade as hers, although she doesnât know what Edgar looks like. Rose offers her that she could grant a wish, but she says that she canât be another Edgar to Rose, so he gives her a day to think about it. Btw Rose gives her two small rose flowers, with those being the twins.
She heads back to Alan, who is injured. She tells him everything that has happened, and Alan tells him to take the wish and grant herself her own freedom. She refuses, saying she wants to escape with Alan. This part shook me the most because apparently, in Charlotteâs diary, there is a second option. This was for when Rose doesnât keep his promise. It is said that after it is discovered that he doesnât keep his end of the wager, they need to go back to the fifth garden and find Neil Otis. Yes, he is alive, in a decaying bodyâbecause he is the only one who knows how to terminate this whole things. Alan doesnât trust Neil, and rightfully so because he is the reason why this whole shit went SHIT. Richelle convinces him once again that all Neil wants is to take revenge against Rose, and that offer would be too sweet to pass up.
So they head to the garden, and sure enough found him there. He was the only one capable of destroying the real ârosesâ found in the fourth floor so that Rose would be weak enough to terminate the whole thing. Sure enough, Richelle was right about that bastard. They pave a way for him the next day, Richelle distracting Rose by offering him tea. Their dialogue was quite sad ngl, but it ended abruptly when Rose senses that his ârosesâ were being burnt. He takes them both to the fourth floor only to find Neil burning a portrait of Edgar in Roseâs roomâshe finally sees why Rose has taken a liking to Richelle, and it was because she reminded him so much about Edgar. This truly breaks Rose, and finally accepts the termination of the wish. Alan quickly ushers Richelle to leave the mansion as it begins to crumble, or burn, idk. They leave quickly using a horse, and there starts the beginning of their lives free from any cursed contract/wishes.
âââââââââ
I probably missed a lot of details, but thatâs fine. This was supposed to be a short spoiler thing but it ended up being a little too detailed for my liking. I literally just finished reading it so the events are quite fresh in my mind. There are no side stories in the tl i read from WHICH SUCKS BECAUSE I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THEM AFTER THE ROSE MANSION.
I really liked the story, itâs again reminding me of a lot of different stories, but also the story gave me flashbacks to the game, the Witchâs House. This is kinda giving me the motivation to write an AU about this story, idk.
Anyways, novel is in novelupdates. Have fun, good night.
Im laughing so hard at my unhinged comments from when I first read the story. I probably got crazier as the story progressed.
I think imma write spoilers out there incase anyone wants to marinate the manhwa but not read the novel. The story is still quite fresh on my mind but im so sleepy, i think ill do it later.
