i was genuinely SHOCKED to learn that satou didn't even leave cause of the whole animal shitshow, i thought this was going to be another stupid and dumb side plot of bl mangas that run for way too long, but seeing him so earnestly think he doesn't deserve yoshida and wanting to leave to make things easier and happier for him just broke my heart. can't believe it's been 15 volumes and we're getting to a point like this i love how weird they are

i just love how this portrays both yasaka and ujie. yasaka is complex and appearantly has a messed up family, by what has been shown in the manga. she's seeking attention where she knows she can get it without having to put too much effort in, just existing while being a teenage girl and not having to talk through her feelings, fears and dreams makes it easier for her to be appreciated, even if it's not true. obviously that's all she wants. i would also hate her in real life, like most of the comments say, but it's a fascinating portray of being a teenage girl who's so desperate for attention and affection, for whatever reason it may be.
on the other hand, ujie likes her only because of what he thinks he knows of her. he just sees her as this pretty, sort of kind adn warm presence that, in his mind, is only for his enjoyment. he wants to be needed and rewarded for his help. that's very similar to incel behaviour in real life, a man who just sees women for what they could be what he wants of them. but ujie is still a teenager, and he wants attention and affection himself, specially after spending most of his time alone (even if he's a little bit annoying). i love how the manga is not mean to him for thinking this way, but still states that he's clearly incorrect in his view.
and i just love how this all ties back to mitsumi and shima. both yasaka and shima seek attention and to be liked, and both for very similar reasons. but mitsumi doesn't know if thats just cruelty, because she understands that while it's their choice to behave like that, there's a reason to, even if the reason itself is not something she actually knows.
sorry i just love this manga so much it's like. the best romance manga out there.
