I am right now in chapter 40 and so far there is no romance. I was wondering at what chapter or if there even is romance in this mahnwa.

I think there is quite a lot of romance for the genre, but it's well hidden behind the action parts.
We have FL's hallucinations/past memories of a "grand duke of winter", since she likes a lot the trope in romance manhwas. I don't understand if he is referred to the silver haired mentor of the white haired villain who was her past lover.
It's already implied that she could have a story with the regressor too, although I think they have 0 chemistry.
But for a story where each time something happens, it has to do with her past lovers, I think it's wrong to say that there is no romance.

I’m thinking that it’s more of a progressive thing, so you can’t really say there’s one exact chapter where either one of them falls in love (Maddie especially since she’s the type to hide her emotions). They’ve been slowly falling in love throughout the entire manhwa. I think it’s gonna take a minute for an actual confession that’s not just for the act tho
