I'm just getting a little tired of how all characters in his proximity are antagonists, sort of, he doesn't really have an equal. I was already done when they introduced the dependent child who is more of a juggernaut accessory, the only time I thought the relationship was justified was on the ride back when he's consoling that all the blame is not her fault... the story is OP, it just falls flat at times. though I do appreciate the worldbuilding, the role of a 'guardian,' I might pop back in after skiving spoilers
I've noticed for the official english publication, they actually changed some panels from the original digital japanese. and speaking of some word choices, he uses a lot more casual language, it actually writes more home about his personality in the live-action lol
he's pretty pathetic, but that's a charm point~
People seem to disagree with how she’s going about a problematic child, and it does insinuate things about gender roles beyond this book. While I can disagree as everyone else about adding the little girl to the mix; I agree from an adult standpoint that peers are the more impactful voice and the parent’s presence (not voice) heavily impacts children. BUT in an educators setting, it’s bullsh*t from personal experience, peers are not corrective forces. That is a lot of pressure and undue stress on a child. Not to mention the risk; speaking as someone whose school counselor who called me in to “coerce” a “friend” who has been sent to juvy, later in life got an ankle monitor, probably had access to a handgun, and needed a grown a** man to watch him… yeah. And the last thing you want to do is completely step away from the situation. The only defense is she spent that entire session being by her side, possibly to observe his reaction. But it feels too… one-note as if she doesn’t have a plan b.
.
lowkey I wish the introduction was as gritty as the novel, the loss of her only parent and the mandatory enlistment meant she she didn't adjust well to where she was.
it's thanks to her team that she mellowed out, but it was moreso because she couldn't damn the world for the hand she was given. she became goal oriented which lines up with her current actions in the manhwa.
and the scene when she was brought out of the dungeon changed. I wished kitty was given it's due exposition then and there, because I'm not sure of their role now that they take the appearance of an apparition.

i'm so happy this has been adpated because the publisher with the english license basically dropped
