Lmao as a person who reads bl and gl I couldn’t agree more

I read both gl, bl and straight and honestly, i can see why people say this. It gives major incel energy. It's simply badly written lol It's almost as if all the characters share a single braincell and the ml has nothing attractive about him, be it personality or anything else. Plain as that. At least in most gl and bl the characters have personalities. Some people, like me read bl and gl not to fetishize homosexual people but for the same reason someone homosexual may read straight fiction. I just like romance, hence why i read from all categories. I don't really care about the genders but the relationships. So please, do not put every single person in a box, just because people who dislike this story exist.

Literally 90% of BL's/Yaoi have the same rape/forceful plots that these dogshit pornhwas have with the same intent of catering to "incels" and losers to either self-insert or pleasure themselves to. Most adopt similar premises barring a few exceptions, though the "pornhwa" genre as a whole is just a fuckfest.

If you think that 90% of yaoi is like this, then you haven't read much. I never denied though that bl who are down bad exist or that plenty of them aren't highly problematic.
I simply don't read shitty fiction on any category, that's why i said that the op shouldn't put us all in the same box just because we read bl and don't find this story good.
I only spoke about the personality aspect, because you can't deny that bl and gl (and straight ones that aren't ecchi for men) on their percentage tend to actually have plot with characters that have depth. Even those that are just porn have characters that have the ability to think and aren't presented as hive-mind sex dolls. I'm not here to talk about morality, but the straight up bad writing. It's impossible for me to find attractive the women as they are presented in this webtoon, they all act the same and the same goes about the male character.

The whole omega/alpha/beta concept is quite literally one of the most replicated personalities throughout all of manhwa (yaoi and BLs) and removes the writing element of the story from the get-go, similar to how in every pornhwa there is a ML who is average, pathetic and dick-driven, and an entourage of starkly-constrasting attractive females who lust after him for no good reason. Rather than the personalities being the same in the manhwas, the repetitiveness of these traits is an obvious indicator that these stories are usually poorly written. I'm not claiming that either is better off, and though I would agree that there are more better BLs than there are better pornhwas (there aren't any good pornhwas), BL/Yaois often have a tendency to centre their plots around a romantic development - whether it heavily involves sex or not - whilst pornhwas are almost always just filled with sex and sex with no realistic development of romance until the last chapter. I think the general premise of the genres is different and so all the fujoshis and BL enjoyers crying about this manhwa aren't any better off

Not every bl story is omegaverse and not every bl reader reads this yaoi genre. Dude, putting every single yaoi reader in the same box is ridiculous, that's what I'm trying to say. Yes badly written bl exists as i said, but a huge percentage is pretty decent. I don't disagree that the premise of those two genres is different, what I don't agree with, is the op using the fact that some people here read bl as means to tell them that they have no right to judge this story. I can judge this story, because it's simply badly written. Me reading bl or gl has nothing to do with it nor does it take away my right to consider it bad, nor does it make me a hypocrite. They have no way of knowing whether i read the "shitty rape romance" plot that specific yaoi contain or not. It's the generalization that annoyed me.

Bruh there r so many gay men I've met on this site, how do u know these accounts r by women? Do you know them personally? Majority of women into yaoi are lgbtq+ themselves, it's a myth that they're mostly cishet. I myself am a bi woman who enjoys all three straight, GL, and BL. Ppl r complaining about the kind of misogyny in this manhwa that exists in 99% of porn which is catered to the male gaze. Even countless Yuri is written by straight men. It's not our fault that women hardly get anything good in terms of porn so we resort to things like yaoi where there is finally no male gaze.
