the author set up the characters with such a fucked up backstory that could inform their actions and relationships but then doesn't engage with it at all. like despite the backstory everyone except for miwa feels like an npc
Damn I hate to say it but I agree. Like Yoshiomi has been sexually abused all his life and essentially brainwashed regarding their powers and religion yet he has no qualms when it comes to doing it with Norito or stepping foot into this village that is so similar to his own. Norito should be a darker more serious character considering the cases he solves and his work as a detective. I feel like this author should be writing better than this since they have done "Palace of the omega" that actually utilized their backgrounds to inform their actions/relationships.
You're so right about all of this... I like the story and what's going on right now with the mystery and all that, but it's like everything that was set up in the first volume has just been completely forgotten. There was a lot of potential for going wayyyy deeper, and I understand that the author is very limited by the amount of pages they have to work with (manga publishing industry and all that), but still, so much has been completely left by the wayside and it's a bit sad :/

are korean authors legally required to write omegaverse
Honestly wish they were so we’d get more of them
I wish they didn’t, this is such lazy writing
like it's so peak!
