After reading so many bls with immature characters that jump to conclusions, get offended by everything, refuse to communicate and lie about random stuff and create so many misunderstandings just to add drama to the plot wonwoo’s personality is so satisfying. I’ve seen everyone love this on TikTok and in the comments here but this just didn’t do it for me. I don’t like the ml at all. He just feels so fake and disingenuous. I only kept reading because of Lyle. I felt really hurt for him. Them ending up together is not a happy ending to me. I had to make up a fake ending in my head where they break up and Lyle finds someone really nice and devoted to him while ml grovels and chases after him but gets rejected anyway. The end.

I like healthy relationships and mcs and mls that are kind to each other and mutually in love, but this story didn’t feel as such. Ash just comes off emotionally distant and not really in love with mc to me. He feels manipulative and insincere. Maybe it’s because of how he’s kind one moment but cold the next, or the Dom undertones. Mc didn’t seem like a masochist or into degradation but if felt like ml was and it just left an unpleasant aftertaste in my mouth.
It’s just little things about his behavior that left me feeling sour towards him. The nice one moment cold the next, the Dom/oppressive behavior,… little things that made him seem manipulative and insincere to me. But others might’ve seen that behavior in a more positive light. It’s just personal preference I guess.

My theory for now is that the quality/power of the family has diminished so much they now are either using ml’s power for these dark rituals leading to his bad health and luck or using chongdo as some sort of straw man for the bad karma they should be getting for sacrificing people/ the rituals.
Maybe he was destined to to d*e early so grandma used some forbidden/powerful juju that she paid for with her life, leaving him cursed with a special constitution that the family needs for their rituals because they have little shamanistic powers if their own.
I also think him and mc are going to be reincarnated versions of characters from the legend of the clan, ml being the dragon/snake thing that didn’t get to ascend and is being punished/cursed by heaven because of it. We saw that one scene where he was a snake coiled around mc.
It’s still a bit early to be sure, but what are your thoughts? :)

I love this Mc so much (づ￣ ³￣)づ he’s so nice and understanding. Love how he never dismisses the ml’s feelings or makes him feel small in any way. Always trying to look at things from his perspective too, to avoid causing misunderstandings and hurting him. He’s genuinely the greenest flag mc or ml I’ve ever seen.
Like, in the confrontation with the ex scene, other MCs would’ve talked to him in secret without the ml and would’ve been more wishing washy about things leading ml to misunderstand and an entire misunderstanding and avoiding each other arc to start but this mc was very clear about his current feelings and relationship and stood up for ml. It might sound like I’m overreacting but it really is rare in romance manhwas to come across an mc this considerate and good at communicating without being a doormat.
I really like this mc. He’s genuinely kind without being a doormat, he’s great at communicating and actively tries to put himself in his partner’s shoes to avoid misunderstandings and hurting them. I really hope the ml doesn’t hurt or betray him ╥﹏╥
