i agree with everything you said. you articulated it well, something was just off and made me uncomfortable. why would he get turned on by the childlike noises? why would she try to kiss him when she could just hold his arm or something?? bit weird to me

I agree that it was a little off putting and I definitely thought the majority of us would not be like awww if the roles were reversed (which also speaks to *tah-duh* society’s double standards), but I think for the speakihg, someone said that she might just be unable to speak in a psychological matter, like the scene was too traumatic and she just can’t, but she was trying to be heard - which makes sense.
The actions of the characters are like semi-realistic? Like I won’t shame the fl for the stripping because I agree that it’s a survival thing, but I think she could’ve attempted couple more ways to communicate rather than outright kissing them.
Again, if the roles were switched and a virgin girl was suddenly kissed by a half naked man, I think a lot of us would be enraged that it’s sexual harassment.
Again, just an opinion.

I don't understand the comparison to boobs and a dick? People react differently to seeing boobs than a penis. I mean, one is used for nursing babies, is regarded as more appealing in the general public's eyes (especially to heterosexual men) and people strive to normalize seeing them in public (i.e. free the nipple or let people nurse in public in peace without being shamed etc) so how are you going to compare that to someone whipping out their dick?

I also think the context here is important. One) that she's acting on what appears to be his attraction to her. And two) they are not living in our modern day civil society where showing your intimate bodies parts to strangers is wrong. Different and extreme situations lead to? Different and extreme reactions. For example: you can't expect someone who has starved for weeks on a desert island not so do something that would normally be inhuman like eating someone or themselves (this is real. there are actual reports of people doing this). Morals always become (a bit) muddied in extreme situations

I also think it's debatable about whether she could've clung to him without a kiss. She can't understand him verbally. She had also already tried clinging to him with her arms and that didn't (to her eyes) seem to be working entirely (because again, they can't verbally communicate so she doesn't know if it's working or not). What she does know, is that he is reacting physically (i.e. blushing) to her advances so it does make sense from her perspective (and not the readers who know what he's thinking) that pushing a bit more would work in her favor. I honestly think people who aren't unhappy about her reactions are to hung up on the unrealistic standards we see in Isekai/Another World plot settings where everything just seems to work out well for the FL because the ML always decides to help them with little to know push or a bit of talking or just convenient plot settings.

I do agree about the baby noises. That's just weird.

I think what people do wrong here with the role reversal is just stripping away (no pun intended) the context. The role reversal shouldn't be "if a virgin girl was suddenly kissed by a half naked man'' it should be ''if a physically strong virgin girl in a seemingly post apocalyptic world appears to be physically attracted by the half naked man's body, which might imply that she could be seduced by him in order to save his life, is suddenly kissed by him and response to it too''. Because that's the context in this situation and I think wouldn't (or shouldn't) be poorly received.

Well, like you mentioned, our modern day perceptions of naked human body parts must’ve been different from the ones in this historical looking fantasy world. But I doubt they had things like free the nipple or viewed boobs as something non vulgar considering in the past showing skin (even non reproductive organ related ones) was often looked down upon and seen as distasteful/vulgar/shameless and such, I don’t think they found it to be normal/natural considering the ml’s reactions to it. But idk.

I also agree that desperate times call for desperate measures, but I just felt like she didn’t really try anything before jumping the guy, so while I would’ve understood it a bit more if she literally couldn’t do anything else and just completely ran out of options, but it didn’t really seem that way to me, so it just made me uncomfortable.

This kind of ties back into the speech problem I brought up. Like, I get that she doesn’t understand him, but since she hasn’t said anything yet except for baby noises, if you try to understand his behavior without understanding what he’s saying, I think him not knowing you’re a foreigner/don’t speak the language and you not replying or reacting to anything he says could clearly explain his frustration. (Also the fact that your followings him for reasons he doesn’t know [since you can’t communicate] could also explain his reactions, which make sense if you at least try to look at things from his perspective)

Like I said, she could’ve just clung to him and tried speaking her own language for the reasons I mentioned before. (Maybe even tried getting her intentions across by drawing some village, drinking water, food etc. in the dirt since pictographs like that are pretty universal and don’t really require a shared language to make sense)

Also based on the guys previous behavior, he didn’t seem like a bad guy, helping/saving her, putting up with this random girl tailing him for who knows what reason, even going back to check on her occasionally and speaking to her (which she doesn’t understand, but could guess that he’s trying to communicate something)...idk.

I guess it’s really just that he didn’t seem like a threat to her, making her situation seem less dire, so her actions felt a bit forceful and unnecessary/uncomfortable to me.
But that’s just my opinion lol

He isn’t stupid, he’s just hot headed and he’s probably still digesting the fact that he’s alive. I’m sure it gets better tho, I’ll let you know when
