This is one of those manga that I read whenever I feek like shedding a few tears. The author does a great job of showing what I think is a really pure and faithful love and in so few chapters, something I think is weirdly or iconically very japanese. Most yaoi nowadays in webtoons and etc usually run for so many chapters. This one is a rare gem though it's an old one and absolutely a 10/10 for me. I'm so glad I got to read it.
The number of yaoi manga I've read where the characters just casually be jerking off together is astounding. I genuinely do not know if this is just a trope or if boys really do just casually beat their meat with their homies. A lot of the yaoi rom coms paint gay romance and sex as this rosy affair that's almost like a shoujo manga. Though I think most of us readers know that it's not like that irl, it's nice to see a work like this that kinda attempts to show what it's like for ordinary people and especially the demographic we don't usually see represented in yaoi manga: them old and middle-aged dudes. I like that neither of them is portrayed as a "blushing bride" type of character. They're really just middle-aged men who do old man things and have old man habits. It's not glamorous it's not sexy and sometimes it's kinda gross what they do (like huffing stinky breaths like fools) but I can actually see that happening since it's two guys who are just so comfortable with each other.
Sums it up, really. Uke is spineless af and if there wasn't anyone to draw out any kind of real reactions from him through teasing and such, he'd probably be fine just existing with about as much personality as air at room temperature.
Good thing there's a sadistic narcissist who actually likes seeing him flustered and finds it worthwhile to draw him out of his shell. The timid pretty boy downstairs wouldn't have done the job.
