Does anyone know an app for typesetting and editing webtoons? Im trying to translate a bl thats no one picking up. Or is there any way I can ask a translating group to pick it up?
Photoshop
Photoshop is the gold standard but you can use free alternatives like Krita! You can really use any art program as long as it has a text feature (so even procreate on the ipad), but if you do, make sure to download a font like Anime Ace or another similar font.
I'm also just going to say this little note as someone who was in a scans group as a clrd a few years back, most group discord servers (generally posted somewhere on the credits page of the manhwa-you know the first or last page) are open to the public and they allow suggestions for what project they should work on next. I'm not sure if this part is specific to the group I was in or groups in general, but if you join the group, you generally have priority when it comes to choosing what the group's next project will be (groups work on several projects at a time so you'll have a specific team that is also interested in the webtoon!) and it'll be much less work for you because you can focus on translating or typesetting while others help you (for example cleaning text, proofreading, or providing raws). The universal format these scan groups use is .psd file, but any art software should be able to export these, it isn't exclusive to photoshop. Hope this long essay helps!
