Rape is inexcusable in every sense of the word and its extremely annoying to see it repeated in manhwa after manhwa. HOWEVER. What turns a good story into slop is not the inclusion of rape, its how the author treats it and addresses it that matters. There is nothing wrong with including toxic characters or morally gray ones or whatever you want to say, the second something becomes slop is when an author glosses over the rape an noncon and treats it like it's normalized. There are multiple examples of good SA representation in manhwa, to disregard this one simply because of its inclusion while KNOWING its toxic and even slightly psychological doesn’t line up. What determines this become a drop for me (key word: FOR ME) is if the author glosses over it and acts like its ok. Once again, something can have dark storylines, themes, and elements as long as it treats those elements with the seriousness it serves.
There is just sm emotional connection and miscommunication between the mcs as well as their sort of kind of falling out when they were younger that makes this toxic for both of them. But at the same time what hurts when reading is knowing that it DOESN'T have to be that way if they just talked it out and both stopped being so oblivious or concealing their true feelings ik that will probably happen at some point but I really do think in this case the depth of their relationship and the fact that there is healthy love here that hasn't been able to develop is the main selling point. BRUH I LOVE COMPLEX STUFF THAT TAKES ITS DARKER THEMES SERIOUSLY
It was so peak in terms of the story and art and everything. But after the stupid reincarnation arc the plot just fell off and repeated the same frustrating stuff in the og. The story should have just continued and finished in the og timeline, the mc death was useless and it just became redundant and annoying to read. It had sm potential and I really liked the first half but the second half is unsatisfying
Idk if I'm picky or smth but I genuinely don't like the Mc that much. Why is he so dense, at least for the first few chapters its obv that they're all s-class. Even he notices himself that only a guide and esper of the same level react to eachother in certain ways so OBVIOUSLY they have to be the same level its not even hidden well its just basic correlation I rlly don't like mcs who don't think. Maybe I'm complaining too much idk
How did this author make some other amazing works that might as well be yaoi classics...and then drop this. It feels so forced and boring. I'm not even invested in their relationship or rooting for them bc lwk why not just stay friends? Like actually why not? Just bc the Mc can't move on like be ffr. The plot is just too weak
Yeah xd i thought its gonna be like ml will try to make them be close mc will try to play along and maybe a 2nd ml will come along and act like couply and ml maybe will get jealous especially after they slept together or smt not that a doctor will force them to sleep together like what makes no sense, like if it would have been like “hey you guys bonded so you gotta stay close” but not actually say “have raw s*x as medicine for now” like wtf xd
And even then I don't even like amo being shipped with anyone other than platonically. And I feel like romance doesn't rlly matter in this series anyway so I hope amo doesn't become a love interest for anyone and stays as a self sufficient and independent character, maybe is she gets more mature than idk. But rn she's still recovering from all of her trauma. Fu is a way better match for her than Rudo if anything. Fu himself is genuinely caring and supports her, their dynamic together is funny and cute overall. It might be an unpopular opinion but I just think Rudo and Amo is boring, brown paper bag ahh pairing. Rudo doesn't need romance and Amo would just have a better dynamic with Fu if anyone

Everyone says it gets good later. But I literally can't do this. The mc got raped not once, but essentially twice and all the ml said to him was 'why are you sleeping with other men' or making some sort of implication that the mc wanted to be treated like that. And that absolutely disgusts me. If the mc was clearly raped, clearly involved in noncon activities why is the first thing you do start banging him out of anger while he says to stop? Its the most infuriating thing I've ever read, and I can't stand the fact that it so blatantly downplays the mc being a victim. The plot with the debt and ml's mother is interesting but this spends 90% of the time with just the mc and ml banging. And the power dynamic between them doesn't get any better its just straight up manipulation and near coercion. I physically can't understand why people are glazing this when more than half of it is straight noncon and unappealing smut scenes since the ml literally has no feelings for the mc and the mc is a pushover who's in a desperate position. Idc if its meant to be toxic, if its going to include rape it should at least take it seriously.
Thank you for this comment. I saw this on twitter and came to read it but I would not be going forward. Thanks a lot.
