I dont get why everyone's reaction to this arc is so dramatically negative. Its not even bad??? Like the terms of his "captivity" is really good. He was reassured that his siblings will be taken care of and we have evidence that his siblings trust Tae-shin enough to confide in him. He's not at risk of any sort of physical abuse. He was literally going to make things worse by running away and NOT asking for help. Am I saying its a good thing to hold someone captive against their will? No, but in bl manwha land this is like the best captivity situation you will ever find yourself in. PLUS its not out of the blue, unless you just did not pay attention to what kind of person the ML is. It was obvious it was leading to something either like this or with the uke running and things turning out 10x worse. Also its so obvious from other captive stories that this is being done out of love. I just think a lot of people reacting to this so negatively have no idea how bad captive stories usually are

MC sucks. He lacks empathy and principles. He acts like everyone convened to convince him that ml was a terrible person but really he on his own distorted someone elses acts of kindness into something malicious. The apology was ass the mc barely regrets literally ostricizing the ml. I wish i could teleport into this story and shoot up that school

Just because theyre teens youre assuming theyre incapable of being held liable for actions that have evidently had serious consequences. We see how much the ml suffers. Yes I understand its meant to be a lighthearted stupid story but I think the fact that the author tries to play off this behavior as normal teenage bs and the fact that the audience accepts that without critique is very telling about our current society. I dont need help, I think the people who genuinely cannot tell how awful the mc is as bystander who perpetuates cruelty are the ones who need help

Why are you vilifying dohui so much as if he’s the one who actually spread the rumor—as if he went out of his way to actually OSTRACIZE (irresponsible use of the word) him. Typical dumb insensitive boor, can’t even distinguish that this is an inexperienced high schooler’s first time experiencing something queer, mind you he lives in a conservative country that actually OSTRACIZES people for their gender albeit not mentioned in the story, this was assumed based on the author’s background. Bootlicking slanderer might be a term that befits you more, yang-hyeon doesn’t want your scary school shooter self. The audience accepting the rumor as a fact lies in a culture that your cynical worldview could never see; your chronically complaining in a forum that people participate for getting entertainment is entirely misplaced. Dohui didn’t even perpetuate this so-called cruelty that you’re mentioning, was the story too short that you completely missed the part where he tried to make peace with yang-hyeon? I mean your solution to school rumors is a school shooting: I doubt that not being the case. This story isn’t a mirror to society’s school rumors escalation to a school shooting; More or less, it’s mostly about a heartwarming cartoonish (yes, this is fiction. yes, this means that it’s exaggerated to tell a story.) misunderstanding based on harmless rumors about a person’s demeanor. Hell, many other stories with school rumors are worse than this and you pick to vent your frustrations here? What a way to sour the wholesomeness of this plot.

Also, "harmless rumors" but it clearly did harm the victim, we have actual scenes of him crying and feeling hurt/HARMED, by the mc's actions and the rumors. Also sorry I don't think someones background gives them a the right to participate in OSTRICIZING someone. + when mc "apologized" he blamed his peers and made it seem like he was being forced to believe the rumors when he never enquired about the source of said rumors. Hes bitch made! Lol. Youre asking me if I paid attention but did you? Listen if you like slop then sure go ahead and slobber it up. But I dont and I'm allowed to say so and why I feel that way lol.
