I enjoy BL (yaoi or shounen ai, doesn’t matter) that have an underlying details/sub-plot that aren’t too common. Fantasy BL are also pretty nice. I’ve recently read “Netkama Punch!!!” and “My Guildmate Next Door” which weren’t bad. “Zero Day Attack” and “Dreadful Night” are also examples. Just anything that has a unique detail/sub-plot or is categorized as a fantasy BL.

I always find it cute when it starts out at the child level (friendship) and then slowly develops overtime into more.

So the MC is this guy who had to dress as a girl in order to comfort an old dying man. MC gets paid for doing this, the money being the reason MC does it in the first place. ML is like the grandson of the old man. ML starts out hating MC because he knows MC is just using his grandfather however ML slowly starts to fall in love with the crossdressed MC. Eventually the MC has to leave tho and gets separated from the ML. Years pass by and the MC and ML meet again however ML got amnesia and forgot all about MC. ML only remember MC as vaguely resembling the girl from when he was younger that took care of his grandfather. Slowly ML starts to fall in love with MC again as they spend more time together. I remember at some point a girl is the first one to recognize MC and ML takes MC to his grandfather’s house to help him pack up all of the stuff there. I remember really liking this BL but I can’t for the life of me remember the name.

Like OLD student(HS, college, university, etc.) that is 19+ with someone already working or just older, like maybe 22-23+.

Preferably, the student is the top/one who initiates the relationship but it doesn’t need to be this.

I don’t really care if it’s the ML or the MC that is the puppy/“black cat” but I just really like this trope. It’s super cute to me!

Stories like “Debut or Die”, “Superstar From Age 0”, “I Became The Youngest Member of Top Idol”, “ I'm Going to Be the Child Actor in This Life”, “Hero’s Diner”, “ Saving the Doomed Idols With My Touch”, etc. are what I’m looking for. A little bit of action (such as in Hero’s Diner where there is action but it’s not the main focus) is fine but I’d prefer if it wasn’t a main focus of the story. I swear, Debut or Die awakened a hunger for these types of stories in me lol.

Basically either isekai, regression, reincarnation, or something similar where the MC takes on a role that doesn’t necessarily involve fighting but rather something else (ex: acting, cooking, being an idol, etc.).
