The plot is so Yaoi. The really most overused storyline in BL which is always a rich manipulative person taking advantage of a poor person who is in debt, making them their sex toy.

I won't be surprised if there will be rape tho. The redhead is such a red flag.

The way the first kiss and first time happened between Lily and Rose... I just laughed so hard.
I can't even call Rose a master manipulator, the protagonist is just a dumb btch
The dialogues are so ridiculous, I almost burst out of laughter at every dialogue

I didn't finish the whole thing yet. But can someone explain to me few things?
1- What is the nature of Ian and TJ relationship? Are they ex lovers became friends with benefits? Or they have never dated before and always been friends with benefits? And if they're friends with benefits, why they have never dated bcs it's clear they have feelings for each other?
2- Why Ian fucks around with other men when he has TJ?

    ratkisser April 11, 2024 2:25 am

From what I know, they're kinda just friends with benefits. Ian fucks other dudes either because TJ isn't there to do it or because Ian doesn't like being a gangster and is distancing himself from TJ. However, don't quote me on that, I'm terrible at understanding this stuff.

As far as I understand it seems like Ian wants to end what he has with TJ and wants to move on from him. Maybe that's why he sleeps with other men. But at the same time he can't really move on from TJ no matter how much he tries. They have codependency problem. And he is in denial, he doesn't really know what he really wants.

yeah exactly. TJ also keeps coming back to him, so that probably makes it more difficult for Ian to get away

    1. It's more like a sheltering kind of relationship. Sex is more like a coping mechanism to ignore any problems or feelings. I think we can get a good understanding when we know how they get to this phrase.
    2. Ian sleeps around in order for him to actually fall asleep because without sex Ian can't sleep.

The comment section here reminds me of the comments about my favorite webtoon ever.
I started reading this bcs it's a love triangle and TJ and Ian relationship reminded me of my favorite ship from another webtoon.

I don't understand people who always support the pure and innocent relationship, it's fiction and relationships like that are so boring. I always support the pairing that has an interesting story and had a history together, they always have an insane chemistry, their interactions would make you feel too many emotions.

I'm team TJ and Ian ofc, even though I know they won't end up together. Ian and Jo is too boring for me. I don't feel anything when I see their interactions.

What does the fox say by team gaji. Sumin and Seju relationship. Well it's a GL not a BL. They have a really similar love triangle. With codependency problem and the relationship is way more toxic.

Oh I don't know it but I'll check it out, I usually don't read love triangles because of this same exact reason, they ditch the more exciting and interesting couple that actually have chemistry and tension ans they make the boring couple be the endgame, like Hatemate I just fucking hate it

I only decided to read wet sand after reading the comments here. Since the love triangle and Ian and TJ relationship seem too similar to my favorite ship and webtoon.
If you don't mind reading GL it would be nice if you read it, it's a really well written mature story, with complex and flawed characters and relationships.

Yeah this's exactly what happened with my favorite pairing. The author went for the boring and shallow pairing as end game. And I feel like Ian and TJ will be the losing pair, unfortunately.

I don't think I will ever feel anything for Jo and Ian tbh. From experience after reading similar stories like that, the authors always make sure to make the losing pair that had a long history together to have more chemistry with too much depth and emotional connection. While they make the end game kind of shallow and bland.

I have been reading BL for 17 years and I haven't seen any stories that similar to wet sand. This is actually the first time I've seen an author doing justice to a love triangle and the characters because most authors don't know how to write a love triangle so let alone them doing justice to the characters. You need to understand that this is a realistic story that has realistic characters. It's understandable why we see the chemistry between TJ and Ian from the start because they have a 19 years of familiarity compared to Jo and Ian who only knows for a year maybe. You don't get that chemistry with someone that you recently know. It doesn't work like that in a real life. It takes time for that chemistry to flourish which is what the author is doing. I'm sorry the only thing that bland and shallow here is the mindset of the readers who only cares about the endgame.

I'm kinda so disappointed with the protagonist of this work, she is so boring and has no depth, she doesn't stand as a protagonist at all. And I don't understand what all these girls see in her, she isn't charismatic at all, she just looks stupid.

Compared to Sumin from What does the fox say, Jiho as a protagonist is such a downgrade.
Even though Sumin was such a toxic abuser asshole, at least she was a well written complex character and she had too much depth, I even understand why she had +30 girlfriends despite being an asshole, at least she had too much charisma. That I couldn't help, yet I still wanted her to be with my favorite character Seju, I completely understand the appeal of her character as a protagonist. But with Jiho as a protagonist... I'm so disappointed. This's probably my first time that I don't want my favorite character to end up with the protagonist.

Yeonwoo is my favorite character, I see a lot of comments hating her saying she should stay away from Jiho. God bless, you all can take Jiho, she isn't a prize. Yeonwoo deserves someone mature and charismatic, her ex girlfriend looks mature and charismatic, it would be such a downgrade if she dates Jiho.
I feel bad for Woohui knowing she for sure will end up with Jiho, she's too hot and pretty for a loser looking girl like Jiho.

    AriesAnna19 April 8, 2024 4:47 pm

It’s all subjective, in my opinion Jiho is a decent protagonist. She has layers, she’s goofy, laidback, and dense. As the storyline unfolds, it starts to make more sense of her personality. She’s scared to make the same mistake she did in the past (in high school) with Woohui. I’d say just give it more time because it is a slow burn. This is all just my perception of things.

What does the fox say ending is so misunderstood by 99% of readers. The majority of readers don't realize where Sumin's choices came from.

I always thought the ending was so boring and lame and has no beauty in it, since Sungji and Sumin relationship is so shallow and doesn't feel romantic at all. Until I finally found the reason why Sumin refused to be in a Romantic relationship with Seju again. I have always known till the very end that Sumin has always loved Seju the most, but I just couldn't find the answer why she didn't try again with her. I'm glad I finally found the answer and I don't see the ending as boring as before, bcs it has a beauty in it bcs even Sumin's choice to run away from Seju and be with Sungji or any other girl has something to do with Sumin loving Seju the most.

Sumin's choice wasn't about who is the girl she loves the most but about who is the girl that doesn't make her feel vulnerable. Sumin chose to be with the girl who doesn't make her feel vulnerable.

I remember when it was revealed that Sumin went through 31 breaking up, I was like, is she dumb? Why would she go through 31 hearth breaks when she can simply give Seju one chance? But then I realized that those 31 breaking up weren't really a hearth break bcs she never genuinely loved those girls including Sungji. The only time that she went through a hearth break is with Seju bcs she truly loved Seju.

The fact that Sumin chose to be with a relationship again with Sungji even when Sungji left her twice is proof that Sumin isn't fearing breaking up with her again and again bcs she doesn't really get hurt, bcs it has been shown several times that Sumin doesn't genuinely love Sungji, but she sees her as an opportunity to escape Seju. Seju who the thought of still loving her is scary to her.

Sumin would rather go through 100 breaking up with different girls or she would even go through 100 breaking up with Sungji than going through one more break up with Seju. Bcs as she said it herself, she hated how much she loved Seju bcs it ruined her life.

Sumin not wanting to be in a romantic relationship with Seju again has nothing to do with the fact that she can't forgive Seju for sleeping with a man or bcs she doesn't love Seju enough. Sumin can't be in a relationship with Seju again bcs she's fearing a break up, she's fearing to get hurt again by Seju, she's traumatized, it's a matter of trust, the trust is broken, no matter how much she loves Seju she can't be with her again bcs she doesn't want to go through another break up with the person she loves earnestly, bcs it's gonna ruin her life again.

Sungji or any other girl are incapable of ruining Sumin's life, even if they would do the same mistake which is cheating. Proof is her relationship with redhead girl, Redhead girl was two timing Sumin with a man, she had a fiancé while being in a relationship with Sumin. Redhead girl fiance even beat Sumin up for sleeping with redhead girl, but when Sumin found out that redhead girl was sleeping with a man all this time, Sumin was calm and even asked red head girl to break up with her fiance, and act as if nothing has happened.
Can I say Sumin loves redhead girl more than Seju, so she was willing to forgive her? Nope, absolutely not. The way Sumin started to act after her relationship with Seju, is more of desperation than love. She doesn't act out of love but she acts out of desperation.

The problem why she has never forgave Seju was bcs it was Seju herself. Seju was a person she genuinely loved and loved earnestly. She loved Seju with all of her heart, so when Seju made a mistake, that ruined her completely and traumatized her, that she's too afraid to go through another break up with Seju, she can't trust her anymore.

Sumin learnt one lesson from her relationship with Seju which is, to never be vulnerable in a relationship. Bcs it's gonna ruin her.

That's why she chose to be with any girl instead of giving Seju another chance. Bcs Seju always made her feel vulnerable, even after their break up Seju still makes her feel so vulnerable, that's why all of her relationships failed and she kept coming back to seju6, her relationship with Sungji finally succeeded when Seju left.

In conclusion Sumin's choice to be with Sungji instead of giving Seju another chance has nothing to do with Sumin loving Sungji more. She chose Sungji bcs Sungji doesn't make her feel vulnerable, Sungji is incapable of ruining Sumin's life even if she makes a mistake bcs Sumin will never love her as much as she loved Seju. Sumin would rather go through 100 breaking up with Sungji or any other girl rather than going through one more break up with Seju. Bcs the only girl who she genuinely loves and earnestly loved is Seju only. After her breaking up with Seju she has never been capable of loving in the same way.

I hope I explained the ending well regarding Sumin's choices, bcs the majority of readers misunderstood Sumin's character.

Is there anyone who is expecting a different ending than Jaekhyung realizing his feelings for Dan then they gonna be a couple and live happily ever after???

It's obvious where the plot is heading, they gonna make Jaekhyung almost losing Dan, either Dan gonna get kidnapped by those men or Dan would start to know his worth, and I believe it's not the later, It's a webtoon the authors always romanticize rape and abuse, how the victims never know their worth but instead they would fall in love with their abusers instead and forgive them for their wrong doings.

It's sad tbh knowing how predictable BL webtoons are, it's always the abusers would get a happy ending. I would really like to see something different from a BL author where the abuser would never find happiness and end up miserable and the victim would just know their worth and heal on their own or with someone else who treats them nicely since the start.

Seju99 December 20, 2023 6:54 pm

And pls Sungji is not a healer element here, Sumin didn't even heal to even start with. How can she be a healer when the only thing she cares about is sex, she has never bothered to get to know Sumin and talk about her dark past to help her overcome that dark past and trauma and be a better person, Sungji didn't even bother to ask Sumin about her tattoo, even bunch of Sumin's exes asked her about it, like girl that's your girlfriend, don't you care to know? Sungji is the most shallow character ever, she doesn't even have a good reason why she loves Sumin, she is a no different than any of her exes, she is just naive, all of them dated Sumin bcs she's pretty and rich, Sungji is just there to have sex and to enjoy a more comfortable life since she still lives with her family and can't even buy a car of her own, she doesn't even own a passport before meeting Sumin, why wouldn't she stick to by Sumin's side? Even Sumin knows how shallow their relationship is, like she literally had to write her a will to inherit her properties, what a romantic ending lol. Seju is the only girlfriend Sumin had who had a really good reason to why she loves Sumin, Seju is the only one who genuinely loved Sumin, poor girl was even ready to die for her when Sumin doesn't even deserve it.

And Sungji is not the reason why Sumin and Seju's toxic relationship stopped pls, Sungji did nothing to stop it, it was Nammi. Nammi is the reason why Sumin stopped being revengeful and hateful towards Seju, If Nammi didn't lie to Sumin about sleeping with Seju, Sumin wouldn't have admitted that she's still in love with Seju, Sumin was finally forced to admit that she's still in love with Seju after showing jealousy and possessiveness signs, which made Sumin finally admit to Seju that she still loves her and stopped being revengeful.

Sungji is one of the worst main characters ever, I don't even consider her a main character to be honest, she is no different than a background character she just had more scenes that added nothing to the plot, even Nammi and Seju's brother who didn't appear much played a bigger role and contributed better to the plotline. The author put zero efforts at writing her character, they didn't add any depth, I don't even know what is her role except being Sumin's doormat boring girlfriend, Sumin and Seju are the only main characters. Sumin > Seju >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sungji. I don't consider someone like Sungji who added nothing to the plot a main character no matter how many scenes she has, which was all scenes with Sumin, girl can't even narrate a chapter of her own.

Seju99 December 20, 2023 6:23 pm

The author said "what does the fox say" is a healing story of two flawed characters, but did Sumin and Seju really heal?
Well Seju did really heal, but Sumin? That girl is far away from healing, let's do a little comparison between Sumin and Seju:
- Seju's biggest flaw was that she loved Sumin too much, she didn't learn how to live a life without Sumin, all these years she thought she would just kill herself if Sumin will never see her again, and all of this is coming from the fact that Seju has never received love before from anyone, she always had suicidal tendencies, so basically when Sumin came to her life and loved her, Sumin became the reason why she is clinging to life and why she wanna live, Seju was too emotionally dependent on Sumin. But by the end of the story we can see how Seju was the better person, when Seju decided to move on from Sumin she did it in the right way, she didn't go sleeping with any woman she meets, she didn't start excessive drinking and turn Into an alcohol, all what she did is to decide to never see Sumin again to the point she had to sell her whole company and move out from the city to never see Sumin's face again, it's the thing Sumin failed to do all these years, even after she decided to part ways with Seju she still couldn't do it in the right way, she still went back to work in Seju's company and refused to sell the house that is full of Seju's memories, she even kept pics of her and Seju.
The author said that even if Seju will go through another break up, she will be fine, bcs she learnt how to cherish her life and love herself and to never make her life depends on her relationship state unlike how she used to be with Sumin, basically Seju got rid of her biggest flaw.

- Now let's discuss Sumin's healing:
Sumin's biggest flaws are... well there are many of them:
Sumin made dating her whole personality, like if she isn't dating and in love she isn't happy, through the whole series her happiness and mood depend on if she is in a relationship and in love, like there's nothing that can make her feel happy except being in a relationship, other than that she doesn't know how to enjoy life on her own, everytime she's not in a relationship she's really depressed and in a bad mood.
Sumin is so fkn selfish, self centered, egoist, who doesn't know how to forgive and she takes ppl for granted.
The story has ended but did Sumin get rid of any of her flaws? No, not a single one of them.
Idk how the author can call it a story of healing when they failed to heal the protagonist, they really think finding a doormat girlfriend is healing. The author made it clear that Seju will be fine if she goes through another break up, but what gonna happen to someone like Sumin if she breaks up with Sungji? We already have seen till the very end how Sumin just locked herself in her house being depressed when Sungji cut ties with her, so once they finally break up for good, Sumin will just get back to her unhealthy life style? Locking herself up being depressed, drinking and smoking and maybe even random hooking ups looking for love again?
And for someone like Sumin who didn't learn forgiveness and giving second chances, if Sungji will make a big mistake, Sumin will just close her ears refusing to listen and maybe turn revengeful?
For someone who is selfish and takes ppl for granted like Sumin, we have seen her being the same selfish, self centered person who takes ppl for granted in "will" spin off, Sumin had a bad break up with her lawyer ex girlfriend, once she needs her, she finally remembered her and met her acting all nice and fake bcs she needs her, Sumin even called her : "Sangami-Ah" it reminds me when Sumin all these years was calling Seju "Baek Seju " after their breaking up not "Seju-Ah", but when she needed something from Seju she finally called her "Seju-Ah" then Seju got mad and told her " don't call me that, you only call me that when you need something from me nowadays ", how shameless Sumin can be to just call ppl who she disrespected like that only when she needs them, to get what she wants from them.

Till the very end Sumin is still a self centered and ungrateful person, does she even feel sorry for Sunhwa? How the hell her death just made her think of writing a will for Sungji? Bcs she thought she might die young too? What the hell is this kind of realization? Ofc she did it to feel a little bit better about herself. And you know what is the most ironic thing? Sumin could have never written this will to Sungji if it wasn't for Seju, Sumin should be grateful to Seju during her whole life, Sumin became rich bcs of Seju. Sumin was just a typical office worker just like Sungji, we have seen her when she was working in the company of red hair girl, after their break up, she had a job at another company, the company was small and with low salaries, the team management didn't even exist, until Seju took over the company, it's where the company became really big and popular, and the salaries improved a lot, and Seju made a team management, and made Sumin the team leader who has her own big, pretty and respectful office room, without Seju Sumin would be just a typical office worker with a low salary, even under Seju's company if she wasn't the team leader, her salary wouldn't allow her to even buy a car, I remember when Sumin said she would like a car for her birthday then Sungji said that's costs a 10 years of salary. Even when Seju disappeared from Sumin's life, Sumin still enjoying the privilege of a comfortable life to this day bcs of the high position respectful job Seju once gave her, she should kiss Seju's feet seriously, bcs without Seju she wouldn't be capable to write Sungji this will. But ofc she's still too ungrateful to everything Seju did for her.

In conclusion, Sumin's character didn't heal and she didn't have any character development despite the author saying it's a healing story of two flawed characters, Sumin is still as flawed as ever, nothing changed, the only logical ending the author could have made to show it Sumin's healing is:
1/ if she forgave Seju, which means she learnt forgiveness and appreciating ppl's efforts, especially since she cheated too, but her getting back with Sungji even though she sees cheating as a really bad thing, instead of realizing how much Seju endured bcs of her after being in Seju's shoes if Sungji didn't take her back, all of this plot did nothing, but adding one more personality flaw to Sumin which is hypocrisy, she ended up the biggest hypocrite ever, you are welcome.

2/ Sumin should have ended up alone, to learn how to live a happy life on her own, instead of being too emotionally co dependent on ppl to find happiness and emotional support, this's was her biggest personality flaw, that she can't be happy without a doormat girlfriend on her side, whenever she's alone and goes through a break up she's just depressed locking herself up. Not only that, how ridiculous from Sumin to say to Seju that she would like to love someone earnestly to the point it would feel like dying or falling from a cliff if that person leaves her. Basically Sumin had zero intention to have a healthy relationship, she doesn't realize that life doesn't revolve around dating, she doesn't realize that she can find happiness on her own, she doesn't realize that breaking up is not the end of the world, Sumin×Sungji showed us many signs of how unhealthy their relationship is and how flawed it's, bcs Sumin is still too co dependent on a romantic relationship to be happy, Well I have nothing to say except good luck for her once they break up, bcs I'm 100% sure that their relationship can't last in the long term, it's the most shallow relationship ever. Sumin Good luck with your break down and getting depressed all over again, I'm not complaining, bcs she deserves it, after all the things she did to Seju she deserves to be miserable, how ironic that Seju is living in a healthy way got rid of all of her flaws but Sumin gonna be in the same shit over and over again after every break up.

Speaking some facts, I would gappily say that Seju deserved her happy ending. Everyone else not so much or at all. Dyke

Seju is the only one who deserves a happy ending, Sumin doesn't deserve it, but it seems like the majority of readers didn't realize that team gaji gave Seju the best and happiest ending compared to Sumin, bcs Seju completely healed and stopped being codependent on relationships to be happy. Unlike Sumin she's still way too codependent on relationships to be happy, so I would say, she only has a temporary happy ending, bcs I'm sure her relationship with Sungji won't last forever.
