I remember reading a bl manga where the seme is visiting a friend in Japan but he doesn’t speak Japanese. His friend played a joke on the seme by telling “will you marry me” in Japanese is asking for directions. Seme gets lost and runs into a very shelter Japanese young man and asked for directions by is actually saying “will you marry me” uke says yes and takes him home and they sleep together with seme thinking it’s part of Japanese culture.
