Can anyone recommend me a story that has like the same atmosphere as LOTM manhua, something dark and serious with minimal comedy, where they are also solving/finding out abt something. Honestly, any dark fantasy will do with no to minimal romance thank you sm

It was about a justice killer MC who kills people who had a light sentence after doing crimes (which I mostly remember was about assaulting girls) and focusing on the fuck up justice system of Korea. Then on the outside he is a smart and capable one and an inspiring police man who also has a relative in the police force which is how he found his targets. Then I believe he was then investigated by some reporter who found incriminating evidence against him (?). That’s all I remember

I read it on webtoon. Since I can't comment there, i'd just ask here

So it was popular around when unordinary was just 80 ch, it was horror with somewhat realistic drawing, all I remember with the story was there was a car and the people inside went into the forest (?) and like got haunted. I remember one scene where a blondie girl was haunted and someone was knocking to her door which she thought was her friend and then tried to kill her. It's been a long time so I forgot most of the story, sorry if the info are limited.

Are there shoujos without romance? (Genuinely asking)

    The May 1, 2026 6:28 am

    yeah
There are both those that do not center it, but it might be something happening in the manga (to main or side characters), and those that do not have romance in sight, even criticizing it.

I wouldn't call myself an avid shoujo reader, but it is a really interesting genre to explore.
I'm currently reading Mystery to Iunakare by Yumi Tamura.
And my all time favorite is Banana Fish (as stated by author herself, the characters were made both male at the time of writing for people to look past what would usually be a romance plot and explore other/platonic relationships. I would also say that it is much better, more logical, and the characters have more depth and realism than the anime adaptation.)
Overall, most of the shoujo mangas that I tend to enjoy are published by Flower Comics (was surprised to find out how many of my highlights were published by them)
For a more lighthearted, still sometimes sad, manga I would recommend Minato Machi Neko Machi.
But there are quite a few non-romance, non-sparkly, non-magical-girl shoujo mangas out there. You name it horror, sci-fi, detectives. (Are they as graphical and heavy as their seinen/josei counterparts? Maybe not. Are they still interesting and well written? Yes)

Thanks for enlightening me, I've always thought all of it was for teenage girls who likes romance, especially that when I scroll through the genre, it's filled with romance of prince and princess. I never thought it would have something deeper and that I actually enjoyed a few shoujos already. Again thanks!!

I read it 3 years ago from another site that got axed, not sure if it's a manhua or manhwa, but it's a sentinel x guide detective shounen ai set in london, smaller guy is a detective, has red hair, the guide, and can see like spirits of animals, particularly deers. Taller guy is blonde and is a police officer (I think), helps the detective, and the sentinel that is looking for a guide (the detective). There are also side characters such as a female journalist (who went missing on the 2nd arc) and another detective/police officer that likes the journalist. The first crime they investigated was like feet severed from women and wore red shoes a lot. And lastly I remembered they tackled the like how guides are mistreated and sentinels can go crazy over a guide resulting in guides blackmailing sentinels. The art was also pretty good, then it down graded into shit halfway with a different story altogether, I still want to read it though, maybe just the first season at least.

I was obsessed with it 5 years ago where 5(?) girls got lost and got into an island, 4 of them was clueless ans 1 was experienced with the wilderness cuz like her dad and her always gets into survival situation. She's pretty numb but takes care of the girls and I think is ric (my theory anyway) and the girls taught she lived in a tent. One girl got bit by something on her inner thigh and survival girl sucked it out. They are also wearing school girl uniform or swimsuits.

Ik it's weird, I sound like some perverted old man, I don't know why I liked it back then to the point that I've read the raws but it has a lot of fanservice and I've lost sleep over this
