This story is very mature and complex compared to other manga. I’m the type to, full stop, never forgive a rapist ML. Ever. No matter if he apologizes or not. That being said, I hope the ML in this manga does more than what he has. I think it’s a good start but I won’t lower my standards just bc the bar is in hell. I can’t write him off like the other MLs as the consequences of his actions have actually taken a toll on his psyche but what he did still significantly hurt the MC. He sexually assaulted the MC and would’ve continued if the MC didn’t escalate. His selfishness got the MC hurt.
I think there’s a lot of nuance ppl are missing when it comes to a story like this. It isn’t THAT complex or hard to grasp but the ML doesn’t need to be babied. Apologizing for your actions is the first thing to do, the NORMAL thing to do. MC not forgiving him immediately really showed the reality of this.
All in all, TLDR; I’m looking forward to how to see if the author will let the ML grow into a better person or become like every other tasteless yaoi ML. I feel like he has room to grow and be better but his criticism is extremely justified.
Side note: I hope Victor won’t turn out to be a bad guy just to make ML look good. That’s so cliche and I hate it so fucking much.
Without spoiling from like 21-25(the latest atm) shines a better light on the ML than what we have seen. Ofc he still is shitty for what he did, but i think the author is doing a decent job putting his character together with nuance.
I think compared to many stories the ML's actions are actually backing up his apology so far. Ofc its only at ch.25 so we will just have to wait and see for now but so far so good honestly. Victor still just a chill dude and the ML is helping the MC in ways he can(that arent just throwing money at the problem or the usual stereotype, hes just genuinely being present and helping yknow? Hard to explain without spoiling lol). It doesnt feel forced or out of character.
MC is NOT raped. While he is assaulted at the start, he eventually breaks down in tears and the ML stops to talk. Idk abt what but I bet it ain’t what it needs to be. Just skip the first bit of the next chapter if these things can be triggering!

Lots of people seem to think just because another character is in a relationship with the main that it makes them the second lead. This is definitely not the case here. The “2nd ML” is actually a groomer painted as a villain, not romanticized whatsoever. They make it very clear their relationship is without love, toxic, and predatory. I don’t think their explicit smut was needed even if it not when MC is a minor but other than that it’s very deep and complex. Anyways… LETS GO LESBIANS!!!
