is it just me or did everything abt this story feel so... unsatisfactory? like damn was it interesting but i feel just worse after reading it like nothing adds up, why did mc keep so many traitors around for so long, how the hell did ml fall in love (i get that one chapter it was like "it happened before we even realized" what did??? mc begging him to stay??? how did that blossom love and loyalty??? i wouldve at least preferred it if they kept their "master & dog" complex so itd feel like it made a little more sense), how tf did the teacher and brother end up mating, & more importantly i wanted to see mc and the scarred bodyguards relationship!!! theyve been with each other the entire time, i wish we got to see them act more than boss/employee bc their relationship seemed to have the most trust, history, loyalty, and development to them </3

very excruciating painful read lollll i powered thru all 50 chapters hoping that itll somehow get better and make my time worth it but it never did. this is something you read for very surface level entertainment, like putting blues clues on as background noise while you focus on something else.

1a) both characters arent likeable and are incredibly annoying. for kimin, i feel like if youre going to write him so possessive, violent, manipulative and forceful, then fully commit to that yandere trope. its frustrating to get this dark side of him dismissed everytime he acts out. would have loved it if he got more development with his character (a good example is "my perverted stalker") because hes beaten up multiple people (one for just being friendly with the mc), stalked mcs house, threatened his own life and mcs several times, invaded mcs privacy by logging in his acc & phone, so much shit that got brushed off as simple comedy or romance. it just feels like the author doesnt know how to treat/deal with him so they didnt altogether. to see why exactly kimin turned out this way wouldve helped so much. ill get more into that for a different point

1b) i already forgot his name but mc is so irritating too the way he has so many thoughts in his head and expresses absolutely zero of them and just runs away from everything or ignores it altogether. i did like how he used those fake tears to try and stabilize kimins mood swings and even used his experience with his gamer girl persona to sway kimins grandmother, and youd think hes more emotionally intelligent from how he acts, but then he starts saying hes insecure because kimin talks to a girl? what? when his mom told you that hes into men? and he introduced you to his parents? and especially in the beginning when he was mentally doing backflips to ignore how his online bf and kimin were the same person, it felt like some miraculous ladybug season 1 shit (ive never seen the show tho lmaoo) hes just so back and forth i cant stand it

2) what especially irked me was mc crying and running away and saying "we need space" because kimin forcefully introduced him to his parents, which was a really good start up for some emotional development for them both, but then went down the drain. mc NEVER expressed to kimin fully how he was wrong in that situation, never made him understand how he never considers mcs feelings and more so how he was rushing an important stage to their relationship. sure they had that fight, but there was no conclusion to it at all. i mean, kimin TOLD mc that they were moving in together and never asked his opinion, and mc was shocked but ultimately let it slide, like? so what was the whole purpose of that fight? for shits and giggles?

3) this irks me too because its mentioned so many times in the story and yet is never answered. what made kimin fall so deeply for mc, both irl and in game? sure we saw that slight hint of backstory and his pov for their first meetings, but nothing meaningful happened to the point where kimin would threaten his own life if theyd break up. and hell maybe it was love at first sight and he did just love mc for being kind to him (which is a shitty trope in itself) but even then id like to see kimins origins to see how he became such an obsessive person. more things is that i want to learn how he learned to fight, whys he so popular in school, why hasnt he been in a relationship before, anything that actually gives kimin personality, because right now he has the depth of a kiddie pool, both of them do.

i mean it was a fun read but that was basically it. its like the equivalent to watching a slime playing asmr video, sure it was full, but it got a repetitive, boring, and wasted my time.

marshmellow created a topic of Stigma (Doo Down)

i think no matter what direction this manga takes, i cant find myself enjoying it.

the plot is basically, alpha befriends beta (believed to be in the beginning by both sides, which i dont get this trope in omegaverse plots, in order to get pregnant the man would need eggs and a utuerus... or did those spontaneously form when he presented?) soon their relationship grows into an intimate one, alpha appreciates the distance and the beta respects it but it turns out that the beta had expected more while the alpha didnt. this causes their separation. then, a huge domino effect happens where the beta greets the alpha in a rut which triggers his heat and his omega side is awakened, the two mate and bond from their instincts, which wasnt consent on either of their sides, and also impregnates the omega.

the plot there in itself ig isnt too bad, but everything after? i dont know, i feel like the alpha couldve been written in two ways, 1) engraged from being bonded and mated subconsciously and without explicit consent (because he was in rut), and his mate leaving him which caused him to go thru his regular ruts alone (which is generally painful in omegaverse plots, for a an alpha/omega to go thru a cycle without their mate) which i thought this plot was originally going to go with during the omega alphas meeting on the bench during the sunset, with how the alpha described his memories of that day. but as the story continues, turns out the alpha doesnt feel this way at all, he isnt trying to make the omegas life worse as a getback, which causes more need for clarification, how come the alpha didnt end up hating the omega, especially since he had kept his distance with him in the past?

that leads to 2) the alpha has always loved/learned to love the omega. which... also doesnt add up. you could either say that he kept his distance in the past because he was afraid of the intimacy or whatever, or you could say that spending his ruts without his mate made him obsessive with reuniting with the omega (which the omega wouldnt reciprocate since hes recessive) which does seem closer to the plot considering the alphas jealous, possessive, and almost nurturing nature, but then, why is he so goddamn forceful? the sex scenes here are just rape, it doesnt matter if the omega gets wet when aroused, if hes continously saying "stop, no, wait" and you continue, its rape. the alpha isnt even in a genuine rut cycle, this is just how hes acting. and also the way that the alphas so controlling of the omega, especially with his job, phone, house? i get hes the heir to a massive corporation and has many responsibility and doesnt have the greatest family, yada yada, hell maybe he did go crazy from spending five years estranged from his mate (which the story doesnt even explicitly say) but every issue with him would be solved if... he was just nice to the omega. tried to understand his fear for just five seconds and realize that manipulation isnt going to work. this had potential if only the author wasnt so fixated with omegaverse rape porn, hell i love omegaverse porn, but rape is just disgusting

this is a much smaller issue but another thing i have a problem with is the kid! idk maybe im biased cause ive read a lot of mpreg/single dad mangas but the kid... feels like a cat at this point. hes not even a little worried that theyre suddenly moving? that his hyung is just a random guy? not picking up at how his dads being mistreated? really? i feel like especially with him having the pheromone syndrome and being a hyper dominant alpha, shouldnt he feel a little bit protective over his dad? hes hardly ever present and when he is he says and does nothing, which cant even be excused of "oh hes sick so he doesnt act like a kid" no hes just never prominent (i dont know if thats the right word but hopefully my point gets across)

i dont know i just felt like ranting before i went to sleep i wish this story had a lot more care put into it cause the art is actually gorgeous (i do wish that the faces had a bit more emotion to them tho)

marshmellow created a topic of Kill Me If You Can

author please i love this story the plot especially the main couple, wtf is this rape sympathizing? daewoo can rot for all i care, then blue hair shit and joon saying they feel bad? huh?

and idgaf if joon used to be an incubus and fed on ppl during their sleep that doesnt at ALL compare to what daewoo did. joon did that to 1) stay ALIVE and not starve, it was a necessity and 2) didnt TRAUMATIZE those people emotionally mentally nor physically, unlike daewoo who did it for simple pleasure and did physically harm joon to the point where he was incapacitated. and i was rooting for blue hair, what the fuck, why is he making light of joons situation?

"oh but theyre devils—" theyre specifically against sin tho?? they literally send doppelgangers to kill criminals and replace them with better people??

im pissed i was literally so excited when i saw this updated too

i finished reading this just now and its a really interesting concept, just wish it was developed more and didnt have a rushed ending. ik most mangas here arent published novels meant to be best sellers, but my thoughts are this:

1) the 180 of siyeon thinking to himself "i need to find a way to break up with him" just a few chapters before the ending to then him suddenly turning lovey dovey and never even mention that idea again (not even to say he changed his mind) was definitely wacky and i wish we had that moment where we, the readers, can say "siyeon fell in love with taekyung right here"
2) i wish they had conversations more, i dont disagree/side with either of them more so i wish they had at least one heart to heart where siyeon put his foot down about how taekyungs obsessive nature pissed him off and the reasons why taekyung acted that way or even why he was so infatuated with siyeon (which is the next point) bc while i like possessive tops, with how much siyeon hated it (even his best friend) i couldnt find myself to enjoy it
3) their interactions were cute but chemistry wasnt really there (which is said a lot by siyeon "i only like his face" so again the lovey dovey ending felt weird) i know they had that conversation of "it was love at first sight" but really it was lust at first sight, i wish the manga delved into why taekyung was so infatuated with siyeon in the first place, especially since it was apparently his first relationship with a man
4) the world building definitely couldve been more delved into, like both the supernatural aspects and idea of hitmen, it doesnt seem like every human has supernatural abilities and only those who intake the pill do, so i really wanted to see siyeons first reaction to finding out he can control freezing elements or even a flashback to his first kill, that conversation he had with taekyung about how he felt confined bc of his job was a hit with me, wish they got more development for his emotional/mental state

besides those points i did love the manga and WISH WE GOT TO SEE LIM! and me personally im not miserable enough to hate joy and wonder for the artists silly faces, i smiled at a lot of them and did enjoy the art style for this!
