I did think it was weird for the mc to get involved with a guy he knows nothing about except that he was getting beat nearly to death. (OPINION AHEAD, NOT HATE, JUST AN OPINION!)
The drama in this is a bit silly lol dont get me wrong i love these two and this story, but the drama feels unserious at times, like the middle school ex friend calling him out like, what, 8 years later? I had a messy middle school life as im sure 90% of people did, but it was middle school and everything was dramatic then, nobody cares when ~8 years have passed since then and then when the mc was getting insecure about shit talking in the mls mind for being late (not minimalizing his trauma and social anxiety in any way fyi, i feel so bad that he had his gentle nature trampled on by mean middle schoolers), and i so appreciate the ml still being sweet about it and forgiving but honestly even if the ml did trash talk the mc in his head... like im sorry but thats not something to be upset about like for one, this is a supernatural ability that you alone possess, for everyone else keeping their thoughts to themselves IS the kind route to go about these situation, no matter the fact that you can hear those thoughts, its not something you should be taking personally, and second of all... it was shitty to end up an HOUR late to a planned outing im sorry mc i get that you overslept but like be for real thats still very messed up to do and the ml is allowed to be upset about it
