Ok. This side story (especially ch 3) goes down in history as one of the most sexually intimate and indulging of all time. The lead up to them in the hotel room, their expressions, the angles, the touches, the dialogue, it was all so detailed and such a perfect panel sequence... just WOW!

"Author will be put into jail if they kiss" Girl, that's the point. If it was just a hug why wouldn't it be shown??? Even if there's a possibility they just hug and let's say it was an artistic choice of the author to pick that angle, it's most definitely DELIBERATE to let it be implied that they kiss or to just leave it up to our interpretation.
What is this sudden blast from the past?! I remember it being sooo tough to keep up with the updates while this was still ongoing cause my heart couldn't take the drama. But it's still one of my favourite stories when it comes to kinks and angst.

This is NOT about misunderstandings. MC has made his feelings clear. Ml is the one acting like a fucking asshole. Doesn't matter if u think the other party doesn't like you, if U in love w smn, U dun act like that (I don't only mean the engagement)

Yes, Sihyun is admittedly worse in his actions. The guy is so overly anxious, afraid of rejection and and of being abandoned that he's become allergic to honesty.
BUT, Joohwan spent so long lying about being with someone else that it'd be natural for ANYBODY not to trust him once he "confessed". Let alone how it affected someone like Sihyun who has deep trust issues and Joohwan is at least aware of some part of it. So yeah, there are still misunderstandings from both sides, since Joohwan keeps dodging coming clean about many issues and things that are going on with him (his friend staying over, his preference for s&m, his past relationships, the ring that he was still wearing a couple chapters ago but had only superficially explained to Sihyun compared to how big an effect the lie had on their relationship).
I totally get where u're coming from. I would feel weird about a lot of this stuff as well if I was in mls place. I just feel like his anxiety isn't enough of an excuse for his behaviour.
I don't see it as an excuse, it's just an explanation for why he is acting like that. Similarly for Joohwan and his uncertainty about Sihyun's feelings for him, using that as his reason to keep lying about the ring intentionally and ignoring how hurtful that must be for the other person. Even though I understand they have issues that are causing them to act in those ways, I personally find reading about their relationship insufferable, after all the repetitive situations and unclear communication that had nothing new to offer to the story.
Idk if the author dropped the ball with the progression and made this trope really tiring or if that was their intention to drag it out this much, but I honestly only stayed for the art and a tiny bit of hope that at some point the plot will actually get better. Like, there are much better ways to keep introducing conflict and unresolved issues without this type of repetition. Anyway, let's see how it goes..

I'm genuinely curious, how are the comments praising this story SO much when it's mostly average?
I honestly thought it'd be something amazing to read only to be met with an admittedly promising and intriguing setting for the plot, pretty art style, BUT mediocre dialogue that feels mechanical and nonsensical half of the time, repetitive events, characters who lack depth despite initially appearing complex and they keep on suddenly acting out of character even mid-conversation like a switch was flipped. And not in some way that adds mystery to them or shows internal conflict, but in a disjointed way.
Last but not least, it's overtly pornified. I love good smut - be it wholesome or toxic - but for a story intending to be plot-centered where you care about characters and developments, the violent/abusive/disturbing sex scenes are literally portrayed like fetish porn and in no way do they evoke any emotion that matches what they're supposed to be depicting. Like, not only the initial dub con, but look at the guard scene and the rape on the train, Jess is saying one thing (being afraid/disgusted or resisting) but the way the scenes are drawn you'd hardly be able to tell this isn't consensual. It's like the story isn't even sure what it wants to be.
Sure, everybody has their preferences and yall might really enjoy the story which is valid, but seeing NOBODY mention all these glaring issues honestly confused me.
