Guys, donât attack me, but I really hate this manga. As a woman, I love stories with two dads and children or omegaverse, but I feel like it takes the entire experience of womanhood in a traditional way and replaces the woman with a man.
and yes, I know â but just think with me for a second. If it were the exact same story but with a woman instead, everyone would say the story is boring, too traditional, not exciting, and that the female lead is annoying and male centered.
You do realize there are childcare stories with het couples right? The single mother who was burned/r*ped by her previous partner, finds a new prospective partner but is afraid to trust again, yada yada is a formula as old as romance itself. That's what this story is at its core. It became a slice of life specifically because the author was obeying reader requests since the readers WANTED to see the couple just be happy and fluffy together, but the story itself ended in vol 1, with some side events in vol 2 with the whole confronting the bio father bit. From now on, that is all the story is going to be because that's what its fans want, so if you feel its boring that's perfectly valid but maybe just move on then and don't crap on it for the people that do enjoy the topic.
I get your point and respect it, but tropes are there to be used. If it's boring with X, maybe it can be more interesting with Y, and that's why we get so many different story genres using the same core.
Yaoi or ABO doesn't take away anything from womanhood because fantasy can't replace reality, it drinks from the needs ppl feel to offer an appealing alternative to reality.
In fact, there's a lot of hetero content that, even being fantasy, can be more harmful than gays being domestic with kids.
I have to disagree. If this story was a watermelon-pineapple and the âexact same story but with a woman insteadâ that you stated was a watermelon. Just because the watermelon-pineapple takes aspects from its original doesnât take away from what either was trying to get across. Neither is worse than the other but what you are saying is that you dislike watermelon-pineapple because it is too similar to watermelon and lessens the watermelonâs taste(or in this case, itâs heterosexual significance.)
-Also I believe that not EVERYONE as you stated wouldâve called that type of story boring, not exciting, and the female lead annoying. There will be those who dislike the story but that is with every single story. To believe that EVERYONE will dislike a story just because a main character is a female is a bit interesting to me because I feel like the market for those types of stories with female lead have a much larger audience than those with male lead.
Just kidding. I personally think that this is the essence of omegaverse, that men can be portrayed and put on the same experience of a woman. And let's take into account that naoto (which is oppressed MAN in this verse) is raped and had a baby but still get to live his life, finding his safe space. I think this is loved by many (myself included) because it's a mix of a little bit of good and a little bit of bad that people (woman mostly) experience in reality but is portrayed by men.
I mean I really see where you're coming from, but what makes me a little bit sad here is ( I read all kind of stories bl , gl or straight) and let's be real the fl in many heterosexual trops always gets Drag her through the mud â even if sheâs interesting, people always find something wrong with her. Not everyone, but a large part of the audience.
So when they use a very traditional heterosexual trope with a male lead instead, and people just eat it up, it gives me the ick especially with omegaversthat lack authenticity and just straight-up heterosexual clichés.
And Iâm against stereotypes in general. But I can tell when Iâm looking at a male character whoâs basically written with the struggles women usually go through, or when it feels like a man is simply replacing a woman in the narrative.Drag her through the mud â even if sheâs interesting, people always find something wrong with her. You're basically saying that your real issue is with the differences in audience reaction that you see between het readers and bl readers. But instead of thinking about the differences in the audience and why that may affect their reactions, you're just blaming the story and projecting some weird feminism on it. The author isn't taking anything away from your womanhood. That's a really immature and self-centered way to view these differences in audience reactions.
Actually, one of the good points of omegaverse these days is exploring the dynamics of the way women are treated through the eyes of male omegas. In a very weird way, omegaverse is a gender equalizer. Alpha women can impregnate men, and omega men can have kids. It's a unique way to explore a lot of social issues and bias, as well as a different way to explore old tropes. So, yes, this story is same-old same-old in some ways, but IMHO, the author tells it really well. And how a story is told is what makes it different, not the plot. There aren't any new plots...just different retellings of the same tropes in different ways.
What I am seeing here is that the uke wants to be treated as a woman (and the little flashback with his mom proved it ) Because think about it why can't he simply be the one buying the flowers or present for the seme and then tells him that he'd like a present/flowers too .
And They are both guys so of course the seme is gonna be chill about little details (of course they're important sometimes)
and it is the first gay relationship for the seme so he has for sure a straight mindset and thinks like ( he is a guy maybe he wouldn't like to have flowers or be treated like a woman)
So just be a fucking man and tell him what do you from him and from this relationship
I hate losers like him who can't ask directly what they want and waste time

Omg
It gives me the ick when I see Habibi
