I was responding to a comment implying that because the author writes about extremely heavy and dark topics, readers should just expect extremely pornographic and fetishized depictions of rape, when no, that’s not something anyone should just expect or accept as an inherent part of these kind of plots. The author can write whatever she wants, but “don’t like it, don’t read” doesn’t magically make criticism invalid. If someone finds the way she depicts SA and rape disturbing or repetitive, they’re allowed to say so. the fact that you want a smut manhwa to be held up to a standard of realism for sexual slavery is mad weird. as someone whos been in a cult and been a sa survivor, i never expect fiction to reflect realism. its fiction for a reason. and sure people will be uncomfortable with that.
