I like this story and the characters in it, because their actions make sense, when we get a sad backstory of shitty character the purpose of it is to explain how they become who are they now.
Mc behavior make sense, because of the trauma he experienced as a kid, he isn't a bastard just because we need a one dimensional toxic person in the story to check out the boxes. In so many popular IP characters behave irrationally, just because the plot needs to go on, even when their actions and feelings don't make sense.
