Summary of the Epilogue in the rest of the novel short story- note this may or may not occur in the manga because they are changing the plot to make it longer.

Text inside [] will be quotes from the novel and put at the bottom of the reply. Text will be slightly edited by me for legibility. (I am sending random snippets so there is no rhyme or reason to what I'm selecting hahaha) DISCLAIMER: I do not speak Japanese, so there may be some inaccuracies.

Summary:

The manga diverges from around chapter 18, which corresponds to somewhere around chapter 4 in the Epilogue: "Gilbert's Intentions and the Dragon Emperor". Leticia and Gilbert don't talk about not involving Leticia in Gilbert's plans and so right after they attend a masquerade together, which Leon is going to bust.

Leticia realises that Gilbert is hiding something from her and asks him if she's there just for insurance in case something goes wrong. He tells her she is correct but Leticia knows that's not everything.

The biggest reason is that since the public does not know that Leticia and the Dragon Emperor are the same, Gilbert, while understanding the situation calls for it, still feels jealous. Because of the Dragon Emperor's rejection of female suitors, there are rumors that the Dragon Emperor is interested in men. So Gilbert is using the banquet to tell everyone that the Dragon Emperor is taken.

Leon also enters the banquet and when he sees the Dragon Emperor, he connects with Leticia telepathically and asks why she's here and who she's with when Gilbert's not around, not realising that it's Gilbert next to her.

After Leon realises that it is Gilbert next to her, Leticia asks Gilbert which form of hers he prefers, because when they first met, he only got flustered after seeing the Dragon Emperor. Gilbert says both because Leticia is both perfectly cute and cool, and the Dragon Emperor is entirely cool (OP-Note: he spends a paragraph gushing about the Dragon Emperor's coolness... this disaster bi...). He says he prefers to peacefully sleep with her female form because she's nice to hold. (OP-Note: In MY HUMBLE OPINION, I think Gilbert will also like sleeping with the Dragon Emperor cause I think he'll feel very safe and secure when he's getting held by the Dragon Emperor).

Once preparations are ready, the Dragon Emperor removes his mask. People realise that it's confirmed the Dragon Emperor is connected to Orlesian family because this is Leon's operation and he's helping out. Leon gets injured in the fight and Leticia fights the person who injured him and wins. The magic-ore merchant wonders where he went wrong and Gilbert reveals himself in front of him. The merchant also tries to taunt Gilbert asking if Leticia knows about his relationship with the Dragon Emperor but Leticia shows the merchant her ring and the merchant realises that he made a mistake.

After the masquerade, Gilbert is not happy because the rumors are now not "the Dragon Emperor already has a man he loves, so it's useless to try and win him over," but are "the Dragon Emperor is a benevolent man who is attracted to both men and women." (OP-Note: RIP GIL).

In the author's note, they say that they were considering kidnapped Gilbert and Leticia rescues him.... here's to hoping they do it in the manga.

There are a few more extras, but the one I'm gonna mention is there's one where Leticia gets a new personal maid. The maid has heard rumors between the Dragon Emperor, Leticia and Gilbert. One day he enters Leticia's room and sees the Dragon Emperor, wet, and in the process of undressing and understandably, freaks out. (OP-AN: HAHHAHAHAHA)
