Yet another chinese manhua who tried to keep up with quality korean manhwa with medieval/magic trope and failed so spectacularly. Gods. The cringe. MC is stupid. Emperor is stupid. Villain wannabe is even more stupid. UGh
Why is it even in the featured manga smh
Your comment is very salty and your reasoning why the story sucks is nonsense, people worked on this and this is their finishing product, it is only 6 chapters in so of course it is very silly and fresh. I would also like to say that just because it is Chinese does not mean it is bad and that Korean ones are the much better. I am sure that there are many comics out there that have a good story arc for the mid evil trope. I will not say this is a cringeworthy story or not because it is 6 chapters in and we barely now the villain and the characters very well so to say it failed is just nonsense. In other words i am saying you are judging a story that hasn't event cleared up on its own plot.
Okay. A nonsense reasoning is what you want then.
First, let's start with the prologue.
You see parents willfully letting babies, 3 month old babies susceptible to easily drown, drift in flimsy baskets along the river because they want hmm, to basically monetize them. 'Oh nooo what about the siblings wedding expenses!!' Wow. So sorry I called it stupid. I'm busting out my thesaurus, let's see. Obtuse and imbecilic looks good.
Second. The wishy-washy emperor.
One moment he's throws the child to the nearest person. Second, he's all lemme cradle her, I could totally kill her laters but gimme. I've seen my fair share of tsundere/yandere dads with Claude, Caitel, Su-hee's dad, among others but it just doesn't compare. It's about proper pacing, execution, and dialogue. I dont see it here.
Originality. Hmm. "Dude. There's TONS of webtoons similar to this one. Why are you particularly flaming on this." Give me something that makes a distinction to the main branch of the trope and I'll reconsider.
Can someone honestly tell me they didn't cringe when they saw the maid scene, how like the back of the baby was blood-soaked and then not so subtle focus on the blood-soaked maid hands? Just thinking about it. Wow.
Emperor: Known for his hatred for women
Maid: VEry female. Drapes herself on the back of the emperor
I cringe at my own memeness.
But I digress
You'd think the palace staff would be discerning to the first females they'd let enter the palace but noooo, let's have this obviously morally challenged, make-up disaster of a harlot whose boobs hanging out, the maid of the princess and future savior of the prince. Yeah sure.
A+ expository and plot devices
Wow. I rambled on.
The art style is great though. No kidding. The characterization, shadows, backgrounds (ooh really dang son, you outdid yourself with this) It's outstanding. Elegant even
But oof. Should be noted that author and artist are different people as is with most webtoons but yeah. Just pointing that out.
So there. Should I elaborate?
See, my comment wasn't intended to attack anybody, even if it presented itself like that.
Just uhh, i dunno.
Straight-up facts? *shrug*
Yep. That's all
I have to agree too. Manhuas are always rushed, and a rushed story is the proof that the author is a beginner writer. It means that they did not lay a clear plan for the story beforehand, and that they have no understanding in pacing and timing. When stories are rushed, not only is it more difficult to understand, but we do not get attached to anything or anyone. And then they contradict themselves a LOT, like in this case, where a character does not stick to it’s assigned personality. It’s such a waste, they should focus on the story more.
Smh. This is literally the premise of the Abandoned Empress.
Well I'm not really complaining because more to read for me but, just saying, they could've gone for a different approach really.
I hated the abondoned empress so here's to hoping that this'll have a better plot instead of a quivering spineless "empress" who claims to want to be a knight or whatever but ends up willingly living in the asshole's shadow...this webtoon seems a bit different and I hope I'm right and the woman has an actual functioning brain
Maaaaan the fire in the previous topics are scorching. Chill out will you. Learn to be skeptic sometimes. If you're following the scanlators properly it should be generally known that SL updates late wednesdays or thursdays depending on your time zone.
When I saw SL in the new updates in my notifs it was met with raised eyebrows.
Yeah sure I was kinda bummed but it was fixed and all. It's only a few hours until the real update anyway.
SO chill mah dudes (▰˘◡˘▰)
HAhaha. We're getting caught up with the raws.. Haha.. 〣( ºΔº )〣
After 5 more chapters then there'll be no more multiple updates like these. Hahaha. Σ(°△°|||)︴
Let us all prepare ourselves for the inevitable twice or if we're lucky or thrice a month updates. Hahahaha. (ಥ﹏ಥ)
ha. haha. haaa. 。゚・ (>﹏<) ・゚。 。・゚゚*(>д<)*゚゚・。 。゜゜(´O`) ゜゜。
I'll pray for all of our poor unfortunate souls. (。•︿•。)
