Well there is no smut in most of the chinese novels/manhua either but chinese bl authors make sure that we know who is who. so it could be the case here too.
Though i actually do not enjoy that much the tendency to heternormolise gay couples (like fr, just yesterday for some reason we started to discuss gay ppl at work and one of the colleagues said"well there is always a "girl" and "a man" in such relationships", and i was like wtf why would you think so, why always?), i prefer when they open to explore instead of fixed positions.

Normally I would dislike such an arrogant ML but he's so delusional and silly I can look past it loll. And I adore MC, she's such a breath of fresh air and she stays nonchalant. What a Queen. Meanwhile our ML is a loser trapped in a hot body

This is pure torture and it ends in tragedy. I don't care how people say "she ends up happily married with ML and they have a kid" no she ended up stuck with her abuser in the 2nd life and somehow magically found reasons to forgive all the transgressions he did to her.
Because obviously all of the pain and horrible things he's done to her magically disappears because he "has reasons and trauma" somehow her unaliving is reduced to nothing when it's found out that she was lied to and not because she was being assaulted and stuck in a horrendous relationship in the first place. Nope, just slid to the side like "oh I shouldn't have done that bcz blah blah blah" and not because every second with her abuser was like hell.
This sad excuse of a ML piece of shit is literally scum on earth. His first reaction to a woman who he was mad at and who he felt "complex emotions" to wasn't to distance himself from her or anything else but instead he SA'd her. Literal vile Vermin. He could've chose NOT to touch her and just hated her but nooooo he had to desire her and put his disgusting hands all over her while still scorning her. What a nauseating fuckwit.

If the author wanted to write a messy 3rd rated torture porn (literally) then they could have just wrote a quick 5 short story to scratch that stupid itch. There would not have not been much different in the plot anyways, wasting all this time on too many damn chapters of BS that could be conveyed in 5 written (horribly) chapters. But alas, this shit exist. Why does "Main Character with NO spine" seem to be the kink nowadays.

So while I do love the story because it has amazing art and the characters had depth and the flow of it was a little melancholy but nostalgia I'm not the biggest fan of Taehyun. Mainly because there was almost always a power imbalance in his dynamic with Daeyol. It always felt like Daeyol was the one giving in or that he was the one was was hurt and still forgave him afterwards even tho he got hurt once again. Even then it was only when Daeyol cried and Taehyun was notified that Daeyol missed him that he even ran to go meet him.
When it was stated that he could've contacted him if he wanted to, it just felt like again Daeyol had to always be the one to reach out (in some way or form to take make steps in their relationship, even unconsciously) for Taehyun to even muster enough strength to meet him there. To me it feels very unfair for Daeyol (and I understand Taehyun and his trauma to get close to people because of his past) but it's disheartening to read how unequal their relationship was, and I just really want better for Daeyol. Like, he deserves better man, he's such a sweetheart.
And although we see improvements in their relationship later on, it still leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. Ofc we're happy for their relationship and that they're both growing together but personally I stayed for Daeyol. Still great story and I recommend it but I think the author could've written how they met up again differently.
I'd be totally okay if the story ends now and she doesn't get together with ML or anybody. I'm loving that she can just be content with herself and she won't stand for any nonsense or BS.
