Coming from someone who veryyyyy morally grey and loves the story and all sorts of dark fiction, I totally agree that rape is practically in every Yaoi, and it's altering the way people consume fiction. I think the issue is that in these stories themselves, people don't fully classify the rape as rape because of how the artists push the narrative that they fall in love because they're a misunderstood person, and that the rape was like a 'crossroad' of sorts that was bound to happen.

Also, because the tops make the bottoms have orgasms during the rape, a lot of the time they diminish that it's actual rape because of the body's natural response to pain mixed with pleasure. They see the body's response as truth, not caring about what the character has actually said. Rape to many, is only rape if you don't find enjoyment in it because that's not being 'a perfect victim'.

I love Zhenya down (I read the novel), but it's still no excuse for what he did to Taekjoo, no matter how traumatic his life was or what he was or wasn't introduced to. People lack nuance to where let's just say 'I see how your life has molded for this to be the outcome of how you treat people and relationships, but what you did is still wrong, stupid, and it's not okay to do regardless if you weren't taught differently.' I can sympathize while also not diminishing their actions. The issue is that many can't - LMAOOOOOO

The argument of 'it wasn't that bad' is unfortunately because, when you read so many of these stories, you kinda 'grow numb'/desensitized to the rape at hand. Playing devil's advocate here (not justifying it in any way), but when you see harsher versions of rape, and because of what a character could do versus what they did do, the rape is not only diminished, but it's seen as an act of mercy, like it is in this story. Not necessarily because of attraction alone, but also because they've seen worse and they know what said character is capable of. If the rape isn't this brutalizing, merciless act, to them, it's not that bad when, in fact, it's always that bad. You wouldn't tell an actual rape victim 'it wasn't that bad'.....I would hope.

The story doesn't endorse rape. The audience does. Not everyone, but a good lot of people do. A story like this will be like many of these: 'I chase you, you deny me, I rape you (or violate you in any way), you find out my traumatic backstory, you understand me, and we fall in love with very little character development or great character development.' Lots of these stories follow this exact cycle, whether good or bad. The issue is that the audience begins to fall weak in the knees after the traumatic backstory, completely forgets all the horrible things the top did, and excuses their actions. The story itself doesn't say 'this is a love you should strive for' just because it got popular. What endorses it is the audience consuming it with their opinions.

I'd definitely recommend reading the novel because we get actual details. I think that things are left out of the manga because the artist has disk issues, and I think they're just trying to push the story out as fast as they can, and I doubt the actual meat of the story will be involved much from the looks of it.

Here's a thought that may ruffle some feathers, but it must be said. If you lack nuance and you can only see a story in one singular road, whether fully positive or fully negative. Not taking into account everything inside of it. Or you just read a book to just say you read it, but don't actually take in details, you are not mature enough to read dark fiction, and you don't need to read it. I obviously can't stop anyone from reading it; however, I think many torture themselves reading a book because they see it as a one-way street. Dark fiction is loosely connected to being psychological in some aspects. It's to make you think, even if it has lots of smut. You still have to pay attention, or your commentary, unfortunately, isn't fair.

In this story alone, lots of people don't pay attention to details. I'll go with the stuff that is in the manga (I won't bring up the novel to prove the point.) For example, people make the argument, 'Why does Taekjoo not fight back hard enough, and why does he let Zhenya overpower him? After all, he's a spy.' Zhenya was in the FSB who worked in a unit by himself. Zhenya has a height and strength advantage. He ripped a man's jaw with his bare hands.....Taekjoo can't fight that man. If Zhenya wasn't interested in him, Taekjoo wouldn't have even gotten a singular hit in.

Another argument, "Zhenya is so cruel for no reason and is keeping Taekjoo just because he likes fucking him and he's a bastard for treating Taekjoo as a pet.' Taekjoo willingly blew up Zhenya's blueprints after barely escaping with his life, all because he was upset his pride was fucked with after Zhenya played him. Since Taekjoo is considered a traitor/fugitive in Russia, if Zhenya lets him go or gives him to the FSB, they'll kill him on sight. Not that his cruelty is okay, Taekjoo is still trying to find a way out and to escape. Zhenya can't exactly say 'stay,' and Taekjoo actually listens, but it's never gonna happen. Zhenya is also treated like an asset to his family and cast aside because of his violent nature. He likely didn't experience proper love (I won't spoil the novel because the backstory is sadder than that), and therefore, he doesn't know what he feels for Taekjoo or how to express that. A mafia/political family likely doesn't have much love in them, which leads him to treat him like a pet and take care of him like one. Point being, context matters; it matters incredibly otherwise when you give a review, and it's lacking the meat, you're not giving a fair perspective, and you're just reading it and not paying attention.

Sorry not sorry for the long fuck ass essay, hope you enjoyedddddd.

And I love the pearled dick, y'all. I'm sorry......but see I fear I didn't get all I was craving. Like chapter after chapter 10.....ms author girl played.....I WANTED MORE ICONIC SEX, AND I FEEL PLAYEDDDDD. Maybe I'm the problem because of my whorish tendencies.....and that's okay because I enjoy reading pure smut goon fuel garbage for the sake of envisioning myself as the bottom because yes.....I HAVE A SIZE KINK AND A BIG DICK KINK. And the pearls.....this BL introduced me to another kink.....a nice pearled dick.......until i googled that shit (it looks ugly as shit irl). Moral of the story is.....when is someone gonna dominate my five foot two ass....HUH? I'M NOT ASKING FOR MUCH

Guys he didn't exactly shit himself LMAOOO. He still had Gilate's cum inside of him and he also has anal mucus. His bussy is inflammed sisters and sometimes because of that anal mucus won't be clear. I also think Gilate pissed inside of him even if it was a little. He didn't shit himself because it would've been particles of shit also (sorry to be grim LMAOO) coming out of him. It would make sense if Gilate pissed while cumming because if it was that deep it wouldn't have came out the way it did in chapter 14 when he was standing and even sitting it was practically seeping out.

So, as the title says, this was my very first BL, two years ago. I enjoyed this yaoi; however, the ending felt too rushed and lukewarm in my opinion. Like, don't get me wrong, I'm happy Dan and Jaekyung are happy and together, and maybe to a degree it's realistic as far as the result of this being the first time Jaekyung loved someone and they love him back unconditionally. It's not perfect love, however, it's a start. But I would've liked to have seen the two months they improved rather than the time skip. Like, I felt the last chapter should've maybe been 7-12 chapters worth of improvement. I'd also like to say, while Jaekyung has grown, Dan hasn't, and imo he has regressed into who he was later in season one, where he started developing feelings for Jaekyung, maybe that's why it feels so incomplete. I know Dan has a good heart and all, but for Dan to say that they 'hurt each other' isn't even remotely true. The most Dan ever did was keep things strictly business at the beginning of season two because Jaekyung really hurt his feelings for how he was treated, but that's about it. Even then, he wasn't in the wrong. The reason why I say Dan has regressed in my eyes is that every single horrible thing done to him was caused by Jaekyung. The entire story, he's either gone out of his way for Jaekyung, blamed himself for incidents that happened, or he himself watered down what happened to him, even though he was deeply affected by it. He even got stabbed, and all he thought of was Jaekyung's championship fight. I understand that this is Dan's first relationship. Hell, it's his first everything outside of his grandmother, but I honestly can't justify him essentially lowering the blows Jaekyung did by trying to say 'we both hurt each other' because it's merely not the truth of the matter. I hope we get side stories, and maybe then I won't feel as disappointed as I do about the ending.

I'd also like to add that BJ Alex has a better ending because of the fact that we see the chemistry between that couple and proper groveling; however, I also understand Jaekyung and Jiwon had two different backgrounds, which also plays into the way each man grovelled for their love. But I genuinely think if we got half of the process BJ Alex did the ending would be more satisfying.

I definitely recommend you look for websites that recommend manhwas or manga that are of better narrative quality, because this garbage doesn't even deserve to be read.

marsxxi April 6, 2026 10:35 pm

In my opinion, no, it's not grooming for a few factors. Hojin has been infatuated with Giltae since he first met him as a child. From what I gather, is that before the day they had sex, Giltae never made a move before on Hojin and has never altered Hojin's mind to want him, plus he's never isolated him, and I don't think there's any manipulation going on. Also, I'd like to mention that yes, the bottom is young, but in fairness, he's twenty-three, not a teenager (19 & below), but twenty-three. He's an adult at the end of the day. Grooming is a matter of conditioning, manipulating, and exploiting someone, and Gilate hasn't done that. At best, you can say their age gap can create an unhealthy power dynamic, but without everything else, it's not grooming. HOWEVER WITH EVERYTHING BEING SAID - I would more so say the dynamic of their relationship is very weird. I think this is why a lot of people think it's grooming, but it's not necessarily the term for it. It's a complicated and grey area in a relationship. It's very weird and questionable that Gilate would sleep with his good friend's son, whom he watched grow up. It's weird and questionable that he's dating him when he and his children are around the same age, and they used to play together. It's weird and questionable that he had sex with him while he was under the influence, even if it was Hojin who initiated it because imo a drunk person can't consent. It's also questionable that Giltae knew Hojin had feelings of infatuation with him, but he hadn't set boundaries with him earlier, which can make people wonder if Giltae developed feelings at any point and just kept them buried. It's weird because he's always going to, in a certain regard, see Hojin as the kid he first remembers, and we kinda see it when he calls him 'kiddo' and other subtle things like the campfire chapter or even the chapter where Giltae gives him candy. Regardless of all that, my opinion is no, it's not grooming, but the relationship is a very complicated and morally questionable one.

    Iifany2344 April 11, 2026 7:52 pm

Thisss, when I was reading this shit at first on some other website, I was like “?” Bitch weren’t you an adult figure in his life, kinda weird so basically, it slipped out my mind diva was a proper adult and just read through after turning off my brain

So far it follows a kind of weird dynamic where ‘oh this is how he was when he was young’ as if to remind, and then comes scenes where ‘this man used to take care of me’ and ‘I was a kid’ and im frothing but at the same time, they’re whole ass adults so I’m kinda just like.. okay, honestly, case of being parasocial since not my life and nothing much really went besides the initiative being riding the man while drunk and he acts like the stereotype but still continues so yes that’s weird but I wouldn’t call it grooming

Every five chapters is a ten day hiatus (a one chapter hiatus basically). I think that April 10th will be chapter 69 and also the official chapters if 54-55 will be released on the same day (DON'T QUOTE ME BECAUSE IT DEPENDS ON IF THE UPLOADERS POST ONLY ONE OR BOTH OFFICIAL CHAPTERS ON THE SAME DAY LIKE THEY DID TODAY). I can only assume there will be multiple updates on April 10th - the latest chapters along with 2 officials of old chapters. Or (which I doubt will happen but something to consider) that there won't be a new update (69+) until the officials are on the same chapter as the reminder of the rest of the story so that it's alined. AGAIN I DOUBT THIS WILL HAPPEN BUT IT'S SOMETHING TO KEEP IN MIND IF WE DON'T GET A NEW CHAPTER FOR A WHILE. BTW officials are essentially fully translated chapters which I recommend reading because in the manga it hasn't been fully clear or understood so reading the officials would really benefit lots of readers. K byeeeee sorry for yapping

I didn't get it so is there a 69 chapter or not? ╥﹏╥
