Well to avoid spoilers I'll say the good friend works like a a two way comunication device with some extra perks, Braun is not exactly present but he was channeled through the plush, essentially becoming it, and because of that Braun has to respect the rules of the good friend horror story, he cannot be present in his true form because of the plush's properties.

Oke, so this will contain major spoilers about braun and soleum's relationship and prob minor spoilers from other arcs related to them so read at ur own risk!
So basically, after this current chapter, despite soleum being scared of braun -- because hes a ghost story -- braun still became one of the entity(?) he relies/interact the most, someone who knows all his secrets, helps him and the one he trusted... that is until the arc where braun got a chance to kidnap soleum to his talk show, contaminate him (it means soleum isnt in his right mind) and make him his co-host for a month.
(I'll keep this divorce arc short so smths are not included)
Fortunately, soleum got saved by someone by mainly bombing the talk show during this, braun found out soleum's trynna escape so he contained him inside a plush body however this said plush got destroyed and braun reacted strongly to that even though he know that soleum isnt inside that plush when it got destroyed (one if not the only moment braun showed emotion like this as a ghost story). After all this talk show shenanigans and confrontations, braun (still upset asf) still gave soleum the silver serpent coin to summon him back and just let him escape.
So yeah, soleum and braun wasnt together for a while but ts doesnt mean he dont know what soleum was doing, he knew what soleum has been up to since they were seperated. This was so funny cause its when soleum is a taxi driver for a ghost story (mc employed asf) and the radio broadcasted an interview about romance/love and braun was the interviewee, deadass braun be talking about how he misses his good friend after their falling out (out of topic braun ) and then he reveals that he know soleum is listening and that he knows EVERYTHING soleum has been up to when braun wasnt with him (The other examples is a huge spoiler so here is a funny example: the "ugly" (it was not ugly) plush toy soleum have and its the plush toy of the one who save him from the talk show whahahaha )
Anyway, u might think doesnt that mean soleum should not summon him back after that? Well yeah, but of course soleum aint doing allat because after some events he went back to this themepark again to get a good friend plush and summon braun because braun is useful (yes yes)... so yeah they continue this strange relationship even though soleum now is much more distrustful towards braun, acknowleging further that braun is a ghost story so he wont have that emotional capability or thinking of a human. This is the part 1 of the novel.
Part 2
As far as I know, not much happened about soleum and brauns relationship here cause this arc is focused in too much revelations/lore (ex: how soleum got into this world). I guess some memorable arc here is the braun good friend plush cult created by soleum, sugar daddy braun, and braun being stuck in one thing with someone watching soleum for hundreds of days not being able to do anything (ts was crazy btw because this is unexpected for braun to do like REALLY)
Throughout all this, braun further acknowledge soleums desire to go home and doesnt really have any plan to stop him. He finds soleum interesting thats why he stays and helps soleum if his intervention is necessary; to keep himself entertained yes for sure. Braun and soleum aint together the whole novel so there are moments where soleum here really out right saying he dont wanna admit it but he misses braun like "My ex lowkey toxic but I still miss him".
Im going to throw u a funfact. One of the recent chapters, (braun and soleum aint together again for reasons) theres this arc where braun saved soleum and someone from a ghost story indirectly. Soleum doesnt know that and only found out when he found an elegant glove (soleum indenial its from braun lmao) and a note for him saying "My Deer, Tip for you, :)" with a silver coin snake to summon him again and this shit was CRAZY it became trending in twitter for a while, created discussions and crazy reactions from the fandom
Anyway, I guess thats it for braunsol's relationship... I probably miss some things but yeah. I really recommend u all to read the novel because other than soleum's dynamic and relationship with anyone being top tier there is also the plot that turned me into a meat soup
P.S: Mc got crazy bromance with everyone that the fandom has a stocks and stockholders on who is the most suited ml for him and who is a fumbler
