I even liked the cringeyness at the end (since it was isolated to the end only) I’m glad it didn’t drag on longer and instead had them both give up their emotional drain clog (for ml it was pride, for mc it was self doubt) and I fully believe that “them doing that” would be possible under the circumstances (near death experience + final farewell). I’m happy. For me, this is the perfect time for a reread, so I can love it all over again!

For me, it's not about hating the ending. Its about the whole story as a whole.
To sum it all up, this story just felt like a child who had a major tantrum and was forced to apologize to their parent when they realized they did something wrong.
Well it's still good because he realized his mistake and apologized, and he even admitted that he knows it took him so long to realize his mistakes, so it wasn't fully a meaningless apology. Kim Dan was hopelessly in love with him so he just accepted it.
Saying it was "good" feels like too much of stretch. I believe the only way to word it was it was necessary.
I mean yeah, his apology did hold weight — But it heavily implied it more on the guilt, regret, and inconsideration he did that caused all of this.
This can be a good introductory for new BL readers who wants a cliche storyline with good writing.

I think it’s a matter of preference. I didn’t like BJ Alex as much. I felt like Alex was a jerk, and the MC was overly needy and desperate. I disliked both characters. I also felt like there was too much emotional manipulation and sabotage going on from both sides.
With this series (jinx) it was more a matter of misunderstandings, miscommunication, and learning to mature in various ways. Our ml thought the mc was attractive and propositioned him. Since the MC agreed, there was no rape (a rare BL blessing). The mc’s exact circumstances weren’t known to the ML originally. When they did become known, the ml extended basic care and financial support to the MC. Considering that the MC was literally no more than a hired prostitute, who was simultaneously his gym’s employee, the ml really didn’t owe him everything he provided. Yet he still provided it (hence why our mc fell for him). Nobody offering goodwill or support to another person is obligated to also provide them with love. Just because someone falls for you doesn’t mean you have to love them back.
They were never dating, it was a verbal contract relationship, so there was never any instance where the MC was morally wronged by the ML having maintained only their initial agreement without providing an emotional exchange. The ML was a jerk the whole time to everyone. There was no two-faced behavior happening (another BL blessing).
The fact that the ML developed feelings for the MC, and grew emotionally as a person over time, was a wonderful story for some of us. This would be especially true for those of us who are aware of how long-term abuse victims tend to be more closed off from trust, and feelings of affection, than other people. They can sometimes be more irritable, sensitive, and filled with rage/bitterness than those who grew up in emotionally healthy environments.
It’s a pity that the professional lifestyle of the ML enabled him to maintain a state of emotional immaturity throughout adulthood. “Violence = authority” is a truth our ml learned as a child, which never changed until the near-end of this series. But the important thing for me as a reader is that it DID change. Emotional growth was achieved. The character learned how to heal and trust. He learned how to value someone else before himself. He learned that not all desired things come through power.
Simultaneously, our mc was emotionally immature because he lived his whole life with violence being used on him. He existed as a perpetual victim who was forced to submit to authority. He never had an instance where Hard-work, kindness, fairness, or speaking up, ever achieved the things that those behaviors ought to achieve. But thanks for the obstacles the MC and ML overcame, he finally found someone who is willing to change his entire self for him. And now he has someone will make sure he’s never hurt again.
I really liked this series.
-The first king was the female demon lord (evolved from a wingless/tailless succubus)
-The second king was the female demon king’s younger foster brother? The child of the elder litch and the Dullahan…
-The second king married a pixie and had 2 children. The youngest one was entrusted to the elves. He took after his pixie mom.
-The youngest one had a wife, who bore a son, who then sired 2 daughters- including Cris.
-we can assume the first born went on to lead the royal family without ever knowing they had a sibling.
-There were 2 red foxes at the side of the second king’s wife after he died.
-That creepy professor oz told a story where 4 red foxes (I’m assuming they were red foxes) went to help at the kingdom. Their leader and her 3 subordinates.
-One subordinate red fox fell in love with the pixie queen but couldn’t marry her (because she was already married to the second king)
-The second subordinate red fox, the childhood friend of the first subordinate red fox, couldn’t be with that red fox because they knew their love wouldn’t be returned (my personal understanding of this statement is that either they knew the childhood friend’s heart already belonged to another… or, they were male and the childhood friend wasn’t gay)
-we know the wife of the second king died. If we assume that the red fox couldn’t be with her after her death, then why couldn’t he move on to the childhood friend after a time of grieving? Was that childhood friend never a possible match from the start?
-How old is the gay guy who sells magic rocks? If he was in a party with cris’s older sister long ago, but still looks young, is he one of the red foxes?
-creepy professor oz states that he killed his dad in order to separate him from a female- and to fulfill his perversions.
-creepy professor oz also says in the story that the son of one red fox (we assume oz is the son) was so obsessed with his father that he killed him. So oz is a red fox? Is he the son of the red fox who loved the queen? Or was he the son of the red fox who was a childhood friend? Or was it the 3rd subordinate red fox, who loved studying?
-So oz is a red fox, who killed his red fox father, who then went on to create the tower of research, while pretending to not be a red fox…
-He had 2 red fox cores- was one his mother?
-oz is a bad guy…

I have a suspicion that the medicine goddess was his little sister before she died. That’s why history books describe her as being a child. She must have travelled between the two worlds up until her death. If we assume she was a dimensional traveler rather than a transmigrator, then this theory makes sense. Of course, that’s while assuming that time, between the worlds, is not equal. Her being gone for a moment, from reality, could amount to years in this world. The pool that she would come and go from must have worked like a dimensional portal. As for her holy powers, it must have been a case like farma, where the power was borrowed from an actual deity.
