i mean, they're not lying that there's the 아청법 (youth protection act), but authors circumvent it by being vague. hs students in commercial KR works are never EXPLICITLY shown in those situations. that's why 'for your love' was r15 until the side story where they are adults. even considering shape of sympathy, nodeok has always been more of a plot writer with a sprinkle of p-rn (but they've gotten really good at drawing it iykyk)

aside from any actual flawed plot devices that im not knowledgable enough about to name, i feel like the reason it feels dry is bc they got together so quickly we all love a good falling in love arc and they started dating before we got to see it. I think rn they’re focused on the d/s attraction and the falling in love will maybe come later
