yeah— NO, this is still leaning towards PEDOPHILIA and you can argue over technicalities all you want but the fact that author used a child (or a child-like figure) makes me feel uncomfy
i've read my fair share of dark/toxic/angsty stories but why involve children? for such heavy themes, author could have at least made them meet at a point where ML is at least legal age if there's an age-gap so it doesn't lowkey looks like grooming

I think they create these dynamics knowingly. Like they WANT the pedophilic grooming type relationship to be used because why else would a person devote their entire live on someone? He thinks shes a god he idolizes her to a point where she cant make any mistakes and its all his fault. He's obsessed with her, doesn't have a personality other than trying to appeal to her, cant/doesn't want to create relationships with others. Oh and also lets not forget she knows the effect she has on him but uses that instead of ending their predatory relationship. And he doesn't remember his past life before he goes to war so all of these still count. Literally everything he does is a trauma response and shes also one of the reasons why hes so fucked up. I especially hate it when they do all this shit and at the end we get chapters about their wholesome family life. It genuinely feels like an epstein documentary.
It was hard to read because it's that realistic! I do think it's short and fast-paced on some parts, but it still tackled backstories really well that you get to understand why the ML is harsh like that, and why the FL still chose him in her second life. The ML's switchup was unexpected though, I thought he will be stuck in that cycle forever but maybe it's also because they keep bumping into each other even after years, even after no contact lol. May this love find me, it was built by trust of two people who went through it all, not just by attraction and affection. The FL is kind but foolish enough to stay in love with the man who locked her away and killed her, but that kindness and patience is what the ML needed to get through his darkness (the way he thinks is really self-destructing) because who would try to understand that but an angel? Love, love this dynamic so much!
