I’m glad I decided to drop this. I saw from a previous topic a video essay on yt talking abt this. This is so fucking fucked up that I’m surprised it has a 9.4 ratings. But really expected since a lot of well known manga, manwha, and manhuas (even those that are not here) are fucking mid but are highly praised and rated high. What is up with the new generations of readers eating up the same reheated problematic plotlines all for the sake for ‘it brings me comfort because i know how it’s gonna end’. Ffs, explore another hobby!
I made a relatively new acc here to read some of the well known highly regarded mangas here to see if they’re all worth the hype to be having the 9 star tier, all I can say is I’m utters disappointed by how messed up some (if not most) trope/archetype they have. So dissapoint that we’re downgrading the art of mangas all for the sake of porn

I’m on chap 37 and I can’t take ts anymore. Idk if it’s because I’ve read better isekai manhwa’s or it’s just the story is shitty and childish, but the akward and cheesy scenes or a grown woman (i would assume she’s 30+) acting cute and ditzy and silly just so any of the servants who serve the imperial family doesn’t die due to stupid illogical reasons (being that they made a minuscule pf a mistake) is so tacky and icky (personally).
If I read this at 16 during pandemic where I still crave and lack physical touch, I would’ve gobbled ts out. (〜￣△￣)〜

The plot is at lowest one can get. The characters have enough depth to make you feel engaged (at least for ml and fml). I expected that they would have at least a little bit of explanation as to why they kept switching at random times and fail to switch back after touching each other, I feel like that’s one of the many plot holes that the author forgot that really stuck to me. But here’s my list of many little things that the author skimmed over:
- the house that fml lived for a year that they brought back home. I thought it would have some sort of significance in their relationship since that’s the place they spent the most repairing their relationship
- fml’s friend not being present in her wedding. Even her friend’s grandmother. Since they remarried with just their closest one, I expected that they would be there.
- the tattoo culture of ml’s mother side. I like how they tied it with the gods as a form of symbol, but it wasn’t properly stated if it’s permanent or not (ofc, we all know fml got a temporary one). Fml mentioned the tattoo of ml like 2-3 times yet we haven’t even had a glimpse of it even after having some panels of ml’s back.
- the ‘pure bloods can produce half bloods, but half bloods can only hope and pray to produce an offspring’. I thought the ‘going to alika region arc will have some sort of information as to why it’s literally a common knowledge that half bloods cannot have children (even ml’s parents know of it). Instead, we were fed of ml experiencing 7 years of agony mourning for illusion fml.

I think you’re just into hard magic system but it was pretty clear from the beginning the entire magic concept was a soft magic system. There’s no rhyme or reason that the body switch only happened when they killed themselves in the beginning either.
Yeah and that’s what I was hoping be introduced to… also, idk what soft magic system is, but I would say in my opinion, it sounds like a fantasy story but the whimsy is not centered. The thing is, the body switching which is literally the plot is magic so ofc I would expect it to be whimsy and fantasy.
And I was js expecting that they would explain the main driving plot and how it works… but idk ig I’m just expecting something that’s out of the author’s picture.
Hard magic systems are when magic in the world has clearly defined rules and how it works is understood by the people in the world and the audience, think of Harry Potter where people can learn magic and cast spells by doing an xyz thing.
Soft magic systems are when magic in the world is not understood by the people in the world or the audience and is just there to serve as a plot point. Think of like Lord of the Rings where Gandalf and the ring powers are not explained but just exists to drive the plot forward. They’re seen as more mystical/high power rather than something humans are meant to utilize.
So that’s what LOTR is… I’m glad I didn’t waste my time watching it lol

Clauden- tries to set boundaries while also making things that keeps Luan to hold onto him
Shane- the most selfish idiotic brother ever (him and his parents are the typical rich snobs)
Luan’s Parents- never gave a shit about Luan and clearly has a favorite child. Has the AUDACITY to say shit like love when they can’t even love their youngest (mind u, shane is more sheltered than Luan and he’s younger) I’m talking SPECIFICALLY to their father and their useless of a mother. The only likeable fact abt them is they like each other (so much that they don’t have enough left for Luan)
The Butler- yes he’s gonna catch stray here. Why TF r u gonna withheld a letter for years and let it rot in a box js to give it years later? Why not just don’t give it? Honestly I feel like Clauden won’t remember or even feel anything for Luan if this fucking spineless butler never gave him the letters that Luan writes which he NEVER even ordered to be given to clauden.
The only characters that are manageable are Clauden’s dad and brother. Like they’re so realistic that they stand out in this circus of a manhwa lmao what a waste of time. （￣へ￣）

This story is giving ‘here, damn’ vibes and i sooo fucking hate it. So fucking rushed you can tell the author doesn’t even give a shit to create one character likeable.
Like why is everyone so shallow? Even with the random flashbacks, there’s barely any crumbs for us to take that would make us know what that character is and what they stand for.
I feel bad for every single character here. And i know I’m reaching for saying this, but i feel like the author half-assed do-gyeoms story cuz she’s a woman. Wtf is this? This is a whole damn mess. Even messier than dojun’s (and me saying that is crazzyyy cuz his story is something else).
I know minghwa is known for having such twisted and uncommon plots, but if it’s poorly executed (js like this one, and many more lol), it’s js gonna be written as bad writing.

That's true. His brother has good story plot even his a side character every detail is on point unlike her she as her own story but rush she is my favorite among siblings. It so sad she rush this just to make way for our babby boy story.
