i know this is fiction, but i’m intrigued in the soap… does anyone know of a soap that gives the same effect(s) as they’ve described here?

Probably basic dove soap doing wonders for them bcuz of how dirty and unhygienic it was in that era
This is actually a myth! They bathed often, just not like a shower we have today (no pipe system back then)
They had bathing rooms/small tubs for feet/wooden tubs etc, bath houses for commoners, soap (especially with scents for aristocrats) made of plants etc.
They even had wash clothes and sponge baths daily or every other day.
Higher born people even had perfume pouches they'd attach to their undergarments so they smelled nice. There were even cloth patches for under the arms to avoid sweat stains on clothes.
If you’re looking for an olive oil bar soap, Nablusi soap is made this way. You could also try castile but make sure it’s olive oil and not coconut or something else. As for its actual effectiveness as skincare idk but olive oil is supposed to be good for skin
