Honestly, I’ve seen quite a few people get angry at Ian/Ain for being manipulative and exploitative, and while I’ve only read the story up to this point, I feel like it’s been hinted that there’s an underlying reason for his actions. It might not necessarily be some grand plan but maybe a reason for his unwillingness to trust michelle.
For one, we’re mostly seeing the story from Michelle’s perspective so I think it’s important to pay attention to the moments when Ian acts out / seems uncomfortable. For example I have a suspicion that michelle is unaware of a lot of what goes on in his own country. He’s young and he seems to have a somewhat "pink" view of the world. There’s nothing wrong with that but it does make me wonder how much he actually understands about the political situation surrounding them.
If we were to see things from Ian’s perspective taking into account all the political bullshit that might be going on in the background, would his actions really seem as unreasonable? For example, considering killing the prince of another country? I feel like we’re judging Ian’s actions without necessarily having the full context behind them.
Something else I’ve noticed is that a lot of Ian’s actions seem to involve putting Michelle in carefully planned "fake" situations to gauge his reactions and figure out what kind of person he really is. Rather than trusting Michelle’s words or taking his actions at face value, Ian seems to need to test him repeatedly before he can believe anything, and then he has to test him again and again.
I can relate to the underlying thought process. I’ve struggled with trust issues myself and I’ve caught myself misinterpreting people’s actions, mentally writing them off, and then eventually being completely won over by them. The funny thing is that the other person usually has absolutely no idea that any of this is happening. They have no idea they’re being judged or that I’ve already decided what kind of person they are based on my own assumptions. Looking back I’ve realised that a lot of this comes from my own insecurities and my unwillingness to reconsider my initial judgments. Sometimes, it’s easier to keep believing what you’ve already convinced yourself.
As they say, history repeats itself. Of course I haven’t read the novel, so this interpretation might not be entirely accurate. I’m not trying to justify Ian’s behaviour or claim that his intentions are necessarily good. I just think there might be more to his actions than what we’re currently seeing, I’m curious to see whether the story eventually gives us more insight into Ian’s reasoning and whether my interpretation holds up.
Ian has every reason to behave the way he does—though are his actions toward Michell justified? Not really, since Michell isn’t responsible for any of it; yet, there is a reason behind everything Ian does. Unfortunately, Michell is caught in the middle and ends up bearing the full brunt of Ian’s anger. Clearly, Ian never intended to fall in love with Michael, nor did he expect Michell to be the person he is.The reason why Ian is the way he is, or why he behaves this way, is eventually revealed
I do have to say, I understand why it’s hard for them to understand each other’s feelings. Aside from not being honest or being on the fence, we also have to consider that neither of these characters is really “normal” or in “normal” circumstances. A big part of relationships is finding someone who feels the same kind of “love” or shares the same feelings as you, and that doesn’t have to happen instantly. I understand why the MC might think the ML doesn’t see love or relationships the same way he does and I also understand why, for a guy who’s never been in a serious relationship, committing to someone when he isn’t even sure they share the same kind of connection might be difficult.
Additionally they’re surrounded by college students who hook up all the time, and there’s also this expectation of dating around until you find “the one”. All of this is to say that I definitely see why the MC is confused about his feelings and is trying to play it “cool”, I also see the ml’s point of view where he thinks he’s made himself quite clear. Miscommunications like this are pretty common in the neurodivergent world I would say so this story is really creative and fun in my eyes!
I swear to god these comments understand me more than anybody ever will, this manga has wrecked me and changed me as a person every new chapter I lowkey wanna puke but I get so excited like I’m on an actual rollercoaster. Thank you wanan and thank you to me that started reading this when it came out. This manga is LIFE ALTERING.

Can somebody explain to me what's happening, not literally but more like, I'm assuming Incheol told the woman to do something that's morally dubious and thanks to that she got ahead or something? How bad is what he suggested morally?
basically, the story is currently exploring incheol’s backstory (season 2) and how he got involved in politics. his female boss also has something to do with pyeonghwa’s mother’s death, which will eventually serve as a bridge connecting incheol’s storyline to pyeonghwa’s and showjust how cruel the world of politics can be.
I see thank you! Sometimes it's hard to understand what the characters mean behind their words because of the political subtext. This means a lot and tysm for translating/uploading!
